Mystery girl run away
To a harlot city's hard embrace
Seeking what's been advertised
All the life that's been denied
A fever burns in every joint
A plea in every needlepoint
Communion

Can you have a perfect lover without understanding love?
Can you see a brighter future without seeking what you hide?
And I understand that simple truth is deeper than is wide
Still I know...

Sometimes it's harder than it seems
Sometimes it's harder than it seems

Mystery girl walks alone
Through the doorks a hundred offerings made
Hear the echo, touch the wood
As a deeper longing longs for good
And as the candle leaves your hand
Feel the warmth and understand
Communion

Can you have a perfect lover without understanding love?
Can you see a brighter future without seeking what you hide?
And I understand that simple truth is deeper than is wide
Still I know...

Sometimes it's harder than it seems
Sometimes it's harder than it seems
And you're wanting to believe
Sometimes it's harder than it seems

Shame is like a blister every step will make it worse
And the vessels of your great escape have all but disappeared
And you hear the Savior call you to a life beyond your means
And I know even a simple faith is harder than it seems - it seems

Can you have a perfect lover without understanding love?
Can you see a brighter future without seeking what you hide?
And I understand that simple truth is deeper than is wide
Still I know...

Sometimes it's harder than it seems
Sometimes it's harder than it seems
And you're wanting to believe
Sometimes it's harder than it seems

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

When We Were Young
Blink-182
This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

Head > Heels
Ed Sheeran
“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.
