Throughout the lines trace and skim around depression, sadness, loss, grief etc. and the internal battle that is depression (How can you defeat what you can't kill).

In the end depression will always be there .. it is how you manage it that determines if you are delivered from it's hands or not.

My take on these lyrics are possibly that he is being confronted with the idea of inevitable death, and no matter what it's going to happen. You can be ignorant of that fact, but it's going to happen.
The main words in these lyrics are "Fury, Deliver me." He is ready to make his return, fueled by anger. He is now transformed.
