The incisions in your wrist were all for show
Just like you
The epitome of self-indulgence
Another farce, a charade
And another set of crocodile tears
So serenade her with your last pathetic suicide love song

"Broken hearts never mend"
But fools never move on
And now she's gone because of you
And once again
You're the epitome of pure self-destruction

Cupid never found his mark
As we await the insertion of blades on flesh
You part the skin and tell of blades on blood
So part the fucking skin
So part the fucking skin
To tell of blades on blood
To tell of blades on blood
Of blades on blood

She said, I love you
She said, she said goodbye

So cry me a fucking river, bitch

You wouldn't know love
If it crushed your fucking chest
Let go!

You wouldn't know love
If it crushed your fucking chest
Razors, roses and a black tomorrow

You wouldn't know love
If it crushed your fucking chest
Razors, roses and a black tomorrow

They never showed any affection
To anything but your ego
A tragedy of errors at the best of times
You are everything that's wrong with me
You are everything that I despise
You are everything I dreamed would die
You are everything that fades away and slowly dies

Will you bleed for me
When suicide seems so yesterday?
Will you, will you bleed for me?
Will you fucking bleed for me when suicide...
It's so yesterday
It's all so fucking yesterday
So yesterday

    the song makes fun of the whole "emo" trend;

its like, you pretend to be affected for attention, go "suicidal" because of some failed one week relationship because you think its cool to be "emo".

this is shown in the lyrics "were all for show" (attention seeking "suicide" attempts) +"JUST LIKE YOU" = your all for show, YOUR FAKE "crocodile tears" (insincere; fake show of sadness)

then there "cry me a fucking river, bitch" + "fools never move on" etc which is basically saying your pathetic, get over yourself

and then: "you wouldn't know love, if it crushed your fucking chest" is just saying that you probably dont know the first thing about love because whatever your sad about is far from it.

and last "will you bleed for me when suicide... it's so yesterday" is pretty much saying; will you still cut your wrist and cry when its not interesting anymore?

thats what i get from it. i dont think it has anything to do with a relationship. but it depends how you interpret it.

LOOK STRAIGHT OUT OF AN INTERVIEW Broken hearted lyrics?

No, no, it’s not broken hearted lyrics… that’s the thing! The whole song is really misinterpreted. The song is pretty much about dancing and jumping on the bandwagon while writing songs about committing suicide, cutting your wrist and setting up this whole fantastic image where being depressed and committing suicide is a good thing, like, is a trendy thing to do. And there are so many people, so many bands that do that just to grab fans and stuff. That’s why I wrote that song. And the thing is that a lot of these bands go out every night and sing this stuff and they have no idea what it is like to be heartbroken, except they betray this image. I don’t know, I was just pissed of I guess. I think I just said it one time in a jam and it kind of fitted, so… we stuck with it. And Justin Timberlake has a song called “Cry Me A River” hahaha.

I really hope any members of Parkway Drive read what you people interpret their music as. It's fucken ridiculous. While songs are made to be interpreted differently by different individuals, you are mostly all saying the same stupid shit. It's about a girl, it's about a boy, it's about a break up.

Generation Y, please shut the fuck up and stop tainting a iconic Australian band with your idiocy.

If you had half a brain you would try and look behind the lyrics as structured and try to apply them to something that is more substantial than over emotionalism in blind love, heart ache and the weak exit of suicide by even weaker people. The band have even admitted that this song gets interpreted the wrong way. In fact, you people are pretty much giving this song the same ideology to what the song is speaking out against...

Read past what you want something to be and look at it for what it is. You want it to be about a guy or girl who have been dumped because then you can relate to it more and try and convince yourself that this song speaks to you because of that. Get over your selfish reasons for enjoying somebody else's art.

i think it's about a guy who fakes being emo for attention. and his girlfriend leaves him. and he has no-one. and maybe now he'll actually become emo.. or maybe not.

basically saying you're a fake. so prove to me that you're doing all that you say you are.

(don't post it on his page, mitch. fight the force.)

i think it was a girl that was using a guy then acting all emotional and saying she was depressed and cutting herself for attention... and she really hurt the guy then decides she wants him back

but he has realised what she is actually like and that she onli wanted him to look cool shown in the last few likes she wont do anything unless its trendy like she will cut for attention but suicide isnt cool

This is what the lads said about romance "songs about heartache are all well and good, but taking advantage of teenage insecurities with songs regarding self harm is shit. it doesn't help anything. the rate of youth suicide in Australia is one of the largest in the world. think about it. " its about fucking scene bands playing to the weakness of kids and how winston hate the shit out of them for that... fucking posers are cunts who do that

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.

Somewhere Only We Know
Keane
Per the FAQ on Keane's website, Keane's drummer Richard Hughes, stated the following: "We've been asked whether "Somewhere Only We Know" is about a specific place, and Tim has been saying that, for him, or us as individuals, it might be about a geographical space, or a feeling; it can mean something individual to each person, and they can interpret it to a memory of theirs... It's perhaps more of a theme rather than a specific message... Feelings that may be universal, without necessarily being totally specific to us, or a place, or a time..." With the nostalgic sentiment and the overall tone of the song, I think Keane is attempting to express a Portuguese term known as 'saudade', which does not have a direct English translation but roughly means "that which we remember because it is gone."
