Another Way to Die Lyrics
The indulgence of our lives
Has cast a shadow on our world
Our devotion to our appetites
Betrayed us all
An apocalyptic plight
More destruction will unfold
Mother Earth will show her darker side
And take her toll
It's just another way to die
There can be no other reason why
You know we should have seen it coming.
Consequences we cannot deny
Will be revealed in time
Glaciers melt as we pollute the sky
A sign of devastation coming
We don't need another way to die
Can we repent in time?
The time bomb is ticking
And no one is listening.
Our future is fading
Is there any hope we'll survive?
Still, we ravage the world that we love
And the millions cry out to be saved
Our endless maniacal appetite
Left us with another way to die
It's just another way to die
Can we repent in time?
Greed and hunger led to our demise
A path I can't believe we followed
Black agendas rooted in a lie
Can we repent in time?
Species fall before our very eyes
A world they cannot survive in
Left them with another way to die
Are we dead inside?
The time bomb is ticking
And no one is listening
Our future is fading
Is there any hope we'll survive?
Still, we ravage the world that we love
And the millions cry out to be saved
Our endless maniacal appetite
Left us with another way to die

this song is the most powerfull of their songs even more powerfull than land of confusion
These lyrics are quite obvious, and a little preachy. And not as poetic as what I've come to expect from Disturbed. I'm thinking this will be one of the weaker songs off the album, because it's definitely not as strong as so many of their previous songs. It's good, but not awesome.
thats your own opinon but i think it an awesome song lol

I heard on the Radio from an interview with Disturbed that the lyrics speak to global warming specifically. For me personally, I first heard this song with the Gulf Oil Spill going on so I kept thinking about how the lyrics might relate to that. By the way, if you look at the lyrics of Disturbed, they have been in the business of preaching in the Lyrics since at least the 10 Thousand Fists album, which had a lot of anti-Bush lyrics in it. Preaching is nothing new for them, whether you like it or not.
The sickness is quite political as well, not so much against a specific thing (e.g Global warming or Bush) but the songs are really raging against the modern society, listen to Down with the sickness for instance, and think of it as a political song.

In an interview with The Pulse of Radio, frontman David Draiman explained how the track contains some very timely subject matter:"Obviously it's referring to the global catastrophe that we know as global warming, and the effects that it continues to have on our planet; our irresponsibility in doing what we do as species, our constant appetite, our constant consumption at all costs. No matter what is destroyed, no matter what is laid to waste. And, certainly, what's happening in the Gulf now is horrific."
The meaning to this one is near obvious I believe. It is a simple thought than man is destroying the world in which we live. As we do so we destroy everything, our oceans, animals, forests, and anything else that gets in our way.
this song is epic
this song is epic
Destroying ourselves by consuming the world.
Destroying ourselves by consuming the world.
yeah, i agree the meaning is extremely obvious. we are destroying the earth and the only way to change it to is to change our behavior and confront that "dark side" of society and of ourselves... its a good song but i would expect better from Disturbed. Its not bad or anything, but I hope the rest of the album is better.
Like everyone else here says, the meaning is obvious. The meaning is we are indulging in our own lives and comfort rather then paying attention to how we are fucking the world up. Pretty much the human race is a bunch of greedy retarts because we don't watch out for other species that go extinct because of our own mistakes. Basically song sums up that we are killing ourselves. There really is no way to change our destination because it takes more then one person to fix it. I admit this is a good song...and deffiently not something you would think would come from Disturbed:).
well... I think the meaning of this song is pretty much covered. not what i would expect from Disturbed, but for some reason it's one my my favourite songs by them.
land of confusion was not disturbed's song...it was a cover of genesis. Jojo94...you are an ignorant young boy. This song is about the destruction that we do to the earth. Whether global warming is happening or not, destruction is happening. It would be dumb to think that filling the ground, the water, and the air with chemicals and waste is not doing any damage.
Don't get me wrong, I like this song. It's just not my favorite. It makes me kind of bored. It's a cool song though. I just can't listen to it. I don't have the attention span.
