For me personally, I first heard this song with the Gulf Oil Spill going on so I kept thinking about how the lyrics might relate to that. By the way, if you look at the lyrics of Disturbed, they have been in the business of preaching in the Lyrics since at least the 10 Thousand Fists album, which had a lot of anti-Bush lyrics in it. Preaching is nothing new for them, whether you like it or not.
