Empty Out Your Stomach Lyrics
Empty out your stomach
so everyone can see
that you're as black as the basement,
just as wicked as me.
But my god, what a mess I've made.
My god, what a mess I've made.
You stare in a way I once thought was stunning.
Oh, but I will try, try and fake it.
You changed back into your clothes while I was thinking,
my body's sick yet it never stops breathing.
I'm sure I know what you're going through,
I call it vanity.
The world is yours so take it.
I lost my mind in this make believe.
You stare in a way I once thought was stunning.
Oh, but I will try, try and fake it.
It's all in a way your words will come out now
because I can't seem to doubt you.
so everyone can see
that you're as black as the basement,
just as wicked as me.
My god, what a mess I've made.
You stare in a way I once thought was stunning.
Oh, but I will try, try and fake it.
my body's sick yet it never stops breathing.
I'm sure I know what you're going through,
I call it vanity.
The world is yours so take it.
I lost my mind in this make believe.
Oh, but I will try, try and fake it.
because I can't seem to doubt you.

as much as i like the line "I lost my mouth, can you speak for me?", i think i hear "I lost my mind in this make believe."
You should edit out that comment at the top, it's not lyrics. Just post it down here.
"You're staring away, I once (?)" [it's not understand you]
It's also not "empty" but I can't figure out what he's saying.
Think it's "I lost my mouth, can you speak for me?"
Instead of "empty" is it maybe "vanity"?
Instead of "empty" I hear "clarity," which makes since with the song.
Thanks for your help, everyone! This is an amazing new song. I think it has a lot to do with someone's perception of themselves, compared to what the world sees them as as. I've heard some rumors that it's about Bulimia, which would make sense.

Shrodes, I agree with "I lost my mouth, can you speak for me?" Thanks!

And Chloeanna, I think it's "vanity" as well. Thank you, also.

also, i think it might be "My body is sick, yet it never stops breathing." ("yet" instead of "yeah")
I think it is actually "My body is sick. Yeah, it never stops bleeding."
This is a tricky one... especially because we don't know if the lyrics are correct.
But I think it's... "Staring away, I was now starving, Oh but I will try, try and fake it."
Whether the correct lyrics are "now" or "not", I defiantly hear "starving." As this song explains some sort of eating disorder, it would only make sense. I think this song is about a girl that pressures herself to be "perfect" and indulges herself in vanity... she's obsessive to please him. The girl he's describing in the song seems to be bulimic and he only blames it on himself that she is this way.
"Staring away, I was now starving, Oh but I will try, try and fake it."
If the lyrics I'm guessing are correct, I would say that this displays some sort of affection in trying to be the bigger person in the situation. Being in his position, something like this would make me feel the same exact way... you'd feel like you wouldn't want to end up like the person who's sick and you'd feel bad for that person. The only thing you could do is stare away and try to pretend everything is okay. And obviously, you wouldn't want to eat in front of someone with an eating disorder, so that's why he's "faking it."
I see this line as a conversation between them after she put back on her clothes... "My body is sick, yeah, it never stops breathing." "I'm sure I know what you're going through-" "Yeah, I call it vanity."
Vanity, (I lost my mouth, can you speak for me?)
Such a powerful lyric. I think that's how he perceives the girl... someone who is so lost for words and confused about herself that she uses vanity to "describe" herself. In other words, vanity is the only thing she knows.
A sad song really. It's about how much vanity can destroy you and the people around you.
It's "I lost my mind in this make believe"
Lyrics from the official A Goodbye & Farewell tour poster (with all Assailant EP lyrics):
Empty out your stomach, so everyone can see. That you're as black as the basement, and just as wicked as me.
But my god, what a mess I've made. My god, what a mess I made. You stared a way I once thought was stunning. Oh, but I will try, try and fake it.
