So I know nothing of your taste
and now speak up, lover.
It's in your lips, I found.
Come on, just press against me
I finally have your attention,
so listen closer, sweetheart.
I've been trying to tell you, stay awake.

And no, no, when we're safe here
Come back, come back, you stayed always.
Stay with me here

Stay with me and watch these cars go by,
and tell me the first thing that comes to your mind.

Watch as I go back
I just came to say that
you'll never see me again.
This clock is ours now, 'til morning.
So stay right there in that frame
This picture is how we speak.
You'll never see me again,
cause I miss you already.

And being that you haven't seen me.
I don't belong in anything you dream,
in anything we dream.
She said "Put your hands back
on my skin and say you loved me,
'Cause I can't live like you do.
Never could."

Come on, just press against me.
You always have my attention,
and please speak up, lover.
Make those lips move.

Come back on the weekend forever
cause you don't mean to shake that way
Come back on the weekend forever
Cause you don't mean to...

Stay with me and I will try to tell you
Stay with me and I will try to tell you

So watch as I go back
I just came to say that
you'll never see me again
This clock is ours now, 'til morning.
So stay right there in that frame
This picture is how we see you
You'll never see me again,
cause I miss you already.

i think its about two people that are in love. but thay cant be together. because he feels like he isnt good for her. hes bringing her down. when he says "So I know nothing of your taste and now speak up, louder. It's in your lips, I found. Come on, just press against me I finally have your attention, so listen closer, sweetheart. I've been trying to tell you, stay awake. And no, no, when we're safe here Come back, come back, you stayed always. Stay with me here" -its like he is with her and hes finally got her attention so that he can tell her its over. "Stay with me and watch these cars go by, and tell me the first thing that comes to your mind." -its like the gf asking what is wrong. so she says tell me the first thing that comes to your mind. "So watch as I go back I just came to say that you'll never see me again. This clock is ours now, till morning." -he basically tells her they cant be together "So stay right there in that frame This picture is how we speak." -its like he is telling her not to move or say anything because he wants to remember her as she is then. a good image, one thats not tainted. "And bear that you haven't seen me. I don't belong in anything you dream, in anything we dream." -hes saying that he isnt good for her. they way he is doesnt compliment her. "She said "Put your hands back on my skin and say you loved me, cause I can't live like you do. Never could." -she realizes that he is right but doesnt want to admit it. she asks him to hold her tighter and say that he loves her so that she knows she isnt wrong "Come on, just press against me. You always have my attention, and please speak up louder. Make those lips move." -he wants to know what shes thinking. the press against me isnt physical its mental. he wants to know what she is thinking. "Come back on the weekend forever cause you don't mean to shake like that Come back on the weekend forever Cause you don't mean to..." -he is asking her to remember the good times. dont be sad( you dont mean to shake) just be happy and remember all the good stuff "You'll never see me again, cause I miss you already." -he is saying this is it. your never going to see me again because i miss you already and that makes me know that this is the right thing to do because i love you too much to drag you down. fresh out of a three year relationship and this is my take on it. although my ex could never have this much heart.

i think the line "This talk is all smack, and tell me more" is supposed to be "This clock is ours now, till morning". I could be wrong, but i think pretty thats what it is

This song is so awesome! I think its about a love relationship, not necessarly based on sex or the physical, but its definitely present. None the less someone, maybe Leighton [vocalist] has been longing for a chance with a girl and when he finally gets her attention she seems uninterested and leaves. Sadly he misses her and wishes she was still there with him.

okay at first, i was utterly and completely confused to what the hell this song was talking about and now i know. the girl is dying, and she's on her death bed. and he wants to tell her his feelings for her because she's going to die in the morning. and he's telling her to stay with him always and that she'll never see him again (bc she's dying) and he already misses her. I WIN!

where u put "and now speak up, louder." it sounds like it says " and now speak up, Lover." instead of louder
