Fever Dreams Lyrics

Sinking into my awareness
realizing what's been done
I've taken a life and mine for granted
Neither planned or in passion
riddled with guilt and crazy panic
my body tells my mind to run
into the forest towards the mother
though I've destroyed her favorite son

All the things I should have done,
All the things I should have done

Execution style in the courtyard
where everyone awake can witness
the cowardly shot into the temple
all because I lost my temper
Burn the evidence, flee the scene
always keep those fingers clean
Devil eyes stare into mine
they say there is no place I can hide

Now I must compare the consequence
end my life or just confess
I won't last a minute in confinement
Either way I'm going to hell

All the things I should've done
Oh, oh, oh
All the things I should have done
Oh, oh, oh
Either way I'm going to hell
Either way I'm going to hell

All my life
passing
before my eyes
All the time
I was awake

You were alive and just arriving
I couldn't see your eyes
All that is love is ever lasting
I didn't realize

I was awake

being depressed your whole entire life and trying to compensate with drugs and alcohol to fill the void. Then to find that that was all wrong and you have fucked up so much when it's too late. "i didn't realize i was awake the whole time." this is how i perceive it, though the beauty of circa is that there are hidden double and triple meanings behind every word. He is an amazing poet and i wish more people knew.

i think this song is definitely about taking someone, something, possibly nature or his life for granted.

"my body tells my mind to run into the forest towards the mother though I've destroyed her favorite so"

i get the sense that the writer feels he did not do enough in his lifetime or did any important things for the world and feels somewhat resentment.

"All the things I should have done Oh, oh, oh Either way I'm going to hell Either way I'm going to hell"

but either way, he feels that it is too late for him to do much.

i love the name of this song, and its content.

He said in the live last night it was about in a dream he killed somebody.

GET IT lmao

i feel like he's talking about how someone would feel after they killed someone ? but idk, it's a good song.

My Interpretation

I like the execution bit, its sexy. Well this song is about an execution, and the guilt throughout the man's head, because he was pissed, and what will happen afterwards has him scared. Faced with suicide or jail, the whole bit about him and what he should have done seems to point to the fact that this will follow him throughout life, and therefore will limit what he can do in the future.

Song Meaning

on their 4/20 acoustic webcast, im pretty sure he said this song was based on a dream anthony had about killing someone. then i think as the song draws to and end he begins to somewhat relate it to something real -- "All my life passing before my eyes. All the time I was awake"

This song is about after killing someone... how more obvious do the lyrics need to be

i'm pretty sure the lyrics have a deeper meaning than that man, yea he comes out and says he killed her favorite son, shot in the temple, etc. etc, but I'm pretty sure this is just an analogy to destroying something else, a relationship of some sort maybe? the last verse kinda hints at this possibly? i dont know i came here hoping to get an in depth look from someone else

@cemimms The temple isn't actually a temple, it's at the side of your eye, the thinnest part of your skull. :P
