Rapid Decompression Lyrics
How much is too much
I'm tired of predicting to lose
But before you point your finger
Before you cast your stones
Take a look at yourself
How can you expect from someone
What you won't do yourself
There's no bottom to your reality
Your desperation is utter and complete
What you can't learn about yourself
You have to steal from someone else
And what you can't steal
What you can't steal, you have to deny
Rapid decompression
Sometimes it feels
Sometimes it feels
Like the whole world's coming to an end
I'm tired of predicting to lose
But before you point your finger
Before you cast your stones
Take a look at yourself
How can you expect from someone
What you won't do yourself
Your desperation is utter and complete
What you can't learn about yourself
You have to steal from someone else
And what you can't steal
What you can't steal, you have to deny
Sometimes it feels
Sometimes it feels
Like the whole world's coming to an end

Rapid decompression: Pressure releasing rapidly. I love the background singing/screaming in this, reminds me of the dropkick murphys everytime I hear it. The meaning could petain to various situations but I wonder if for tom it has to do with the music scene.
Oh Against Me! where did you go?
I love this song and this album...It is so cool to see Tom say "fuck you, adios" to the people who cannot get passed Reinventing Axl Rose. This song and the whole album is a sign off from the way they used to view the world....I'm glad they have grown because I have also and Tom Gable is the voice of my generation...
codynuss, I couldn't agree more. Like literally, you took the words straight from my thoughts!
I'm so glad that Tom Gabel has moved on and grown up! Unlike some other bands... (Sum 41, ahem!) It just goes to show how much talent he has now, and has always had, to bring to the music world.
Great song by the way. Great album as well.
"But before you point your finger Before you cast your stones Take a look at yourself How can you expect from someone What you won't do yourself"
I love these lyrics, best "fuck you" in a song, ever!
If Tom/Laura had any idea how close to good solid Christian doctrine his lyrics smack of sometimes he/she would probably write a song pointing out how the former statement was wrong.
