This is a really pretty song.
The album is different and stands alone, like every Against Me album before it. I like it, though.
I'm just anticipating the wave of negativity that will be flooding the comments section of these new songs. It's bound to happen, since punk-rock kids just loooove to hate on AM! these days.
i think it's a mistake to dismiss all criticism of new against me as pure trendiness. there are legitimate reasons behind the backlash. yes, it's their prerogative to take their music in any direction they wish, but the new stuff seems very boring and overproduced to me, for the most part. it's almost impossible to say something like "this isn't punk!" with a straight face since that argument is used improperly approximately 103% of the time, but in this case, i think it actually applies - it's disingenuous to call this a punk album. it's a rock album. there's nothing...

Agreed, this may not be the way most of their albums sound but 1.I believe they have some different ppl putting their last 2 albums together which is not bad just different and 2.it is still AM! all their lyrics are still raw and true to how they, or at least tom, feels. I'm not looking forward to the hate parade that will be coming for them.

We all have struggles and frustrations and we grow weary of them as we get older. They contributed to the demise of the relationship but he doesn't blame her or himself. It's just the way it is and he doesn't expect to find answers or relief from the pain of life. During this period of sadness, he just wants the comfort of being close to her.
He's not talking to himself or "her" (whoever "her" might be) but he's talking to us, the people who used to listen to Against Me in their youth time, people who were anarchist, people who had ideals, idealist that grew up to be cynic, who grew up ill will or resentful. People who had to deal with reason (I thought the line "Ideals turn to resentment" was "Deals turned to reason, and")

I don't care about people hating Against Me! because they "aren't doing punk anymore" because, for me, Against Me! always was a Folk "(somewhat aggressive) modern-rock" band, not a "Folk Punk" band.

Such a very pretty song. I'm not really the largest AM! fsn but this s lovely song. Not sure about the meaning though.

All of this sounds like another one from Laura Jane being released in music form. I am still so happy that Laura Jane found the strength and love to be herself. AM! forever.
The sound might be different but it is still AM! and you can hear that. I'm fond of older AM! and I'm fond of this, too. I would love a more broken down acoustic version of this song... I'll spend every dollar that I've ever earned. I'll bleed my heart out, I'll give every wound.

Just my opinion, but this has to be one of the most depressing Against Me! songs.. not even just sad.. depressing..
