In Venere Veritas Lyrics
Let's fall apart together now
Zipping cupid in a body bag well-worn
Next to the mausoleum he was born in
Picking up the pieces of this gory glory of it all
From eve to morn, for eve to mourn
[Chorus]
Have no fear
There are wounds that are not meant to heal
And they sing in venere veritas
Come inside let the fire burn you alive
And sing baby sing
There are wounds that are not meant to heal at all
In venere veritas
Let's fall apart together now.
There is a method to our sadness
As we drag the mirrored ball and chain
Through the twilight again dressed up in shame
[Chorus]
We are begging for a reflection
From an unshuttered heart
To blind and chase us over the edge
[Chorus]
These are the wounds that are not meant to heal at all
Let's fall apart together now
Let's fall apart together now
Zipping cupid in a body bag well-worn
Next to the mausoleum he was born in
Picking up the pieces of this gory glory of it all
From eve to morn, for eve to mourn
Have no fear
There are wounds that are not meant to heal
And they sing in venere veritas
Come inside let the fire burn you alive
And sing baby sing
There are wounds that are not meant to heal at all
In venere veritas
As we drag the mirrored ball and chain
Through the twilight again dressed up in shame
From an unshuttered heart
To blind and chase us over the edge
Let's fall apart together now

I'm sorry Borellus, but "In Venere Veritas" means "truth's in Venus", as much as it can be taken from the sentence "in vino veritas". I still think it's about sexual deside, since women are supposed to come from Venus.
With all due respect to what you're academic opinions have proven which are quite encouraging .... i think that the song is simple and beautiful, it speaks for a worn and broken heart that is reminiscing a broken moment that was once something beautiful and glorious that sill haunts a tainted soul .... "There are some wounds that are not meant to heal at all"
Let's fall apart together now!

So not only has the name of the song been spelled incorrectly, but some of the lyrics are incorrect as well.
Either way, the lyrics end up still meaning the same thing. And why has no one commented on this song yet?!?!
But anyway, I think the meaning is simple.
The term "In venere veritas" is a term that Ville Valo took from the latin phrase "In Vino Veritas" - Which translates to "In wine there is truth." But because of Ville Valo's play on words, his version actually means "In sexual desire there is truth."
So in conclusion, I'd say this is just a classic HIM song about sleeping/being with someone you don't love (or just a COMPLETELY wrong relationship)and ending up getting hurt in the end.
Another indication of this is the first lines of the song which should be,
Zipping cupid in a body bag well worn, - (meaning: basically love is dead/gone or doesn't exist) Next to the mausoleum he was born in, - (meaning: was done from the beginning) Picking up the pieces of this gory glory of it all, - (meaning: getting over it all) from eve to mourn, (meaning: day after day)
Maybe i'm wrong I don't know, but this is just my opinion of it all. :)
Hope that helps! :D
Well I was told 'In Venere Veritas' means in Venus there is truth. Cos Venus is the god of sex or love or what not. It would translate to in sex there is truth

I thought it meant in love there is trust. not necessarily sex.

Judging by the film clip. I'd say it's love.

Here is my interpretation for a few lyrics of the song:
"Zip and keep it in a body bag well warm" - He refers to a feeling that is fading, and the "body bag" is simply human body, his body that is trying to stick to feeling that is almost lost. Warmth is tradicionaly always connected to positive feeling: love, hope... He is trying to preserve hope, yet it is merely lost.
"Next to the mausoleum he was born in" - We well know that the "temple" is shelter for the human soul, so the "mausoleum" may refer to a body that does not feel alive any more, does not possess will to live and fight any more.
"Picking up the pieces of this gory glory of it all" - He is trying to find something in his pathetic, emotional body that will give him comfort. The "gory", the blood is connected to primal vital energy, but shattered to pieces it can not do much good.
"Bereave to mourn, bereave to mourn - All that is left is to mourn for the dieing feeling. "Have no fear There are wounds that are not meant to heal And they sing, 'In Venere Veritas'" - There he finds joy in suffering, accepts his love wounds, and concludes that there is truth in worshiping, in caring and suffering for another being, being he does love.
"There's a motive to our sadness As we drag the mirrored ball and chain - We know ourselves trough mirror, we know ourselves in others, and their mirror is their burdon, the suffering they have chosen to bare.
Through the twilight again - "Twilight" because it represents a short time between two happenings: the day and the night; between love and hate; between joy and sadness, two opposites generally.
Dressed up in shame." - "shame" born from their failure. Shame for the bad things they have done to each other and theirselves.
"Begging for reflection of a all the shattered hearts who Find and chase us over the edge." - The things they find out about each other, and primary about theirselves are chasing them, and have forced them to go over the edge of their love to hate, hope to hopeless state, joy to torture...
"Let's fall apart together now!" - Let's join in this state, throw away all the limits, all norms, all prejudice, all that remains in past, Ego, negative feelings... Let's fall apart and let ourselves be consumed with this love and let in our lives whatever this love will bring.

An unshuttered heart. I read in several places that that has something to do with between life and death.
And of course venere veritas is Latin for sexual truth
Venere also means venus.
