Fabrizio Palumbo is in Larsen, who recorded two albums with Xiu Xiu. I imagine this is about a traumatic event in Fabrizio's past and this is his "retaliation" as phrased by Jamie. The retaliation is Fabrizio fighting back, against the feelings that this event puts in him, the will not to live. It's a push-and-pull thing of being fine and moving on from it and then it creeps up and makes his life hell all over again.
