Q&A
A Life Less Ordinary (Need a Little Help) Lyrics
I didn't think I would make it
Thought everybody was against me
All those conquered eyes and Christmases alone
I never gave an honest answer
But I need a lot of angry organs
Are we copacetic? Are we behaving now?
Filling up on endless insights
From other people's ugly insides
All this bitterness is starting to grow cold
When comfort is an empty evening
Hanging onto complications
Sometimes quick sand has a massive appeal to me
I want to be somewhere else
I think I can figure it out
But I'm gonna need a little help to get me
Need a little help to get me
I think I can figure it out
But I'm gonna need a little help to get me through it
To get me through it
I always knew I had the answer
But I never understood the question
Indoor living, lacerated to the bone
And now we re-align the edges
I’m doing very well, I thank you
All this empathy is starting to wear me down
I wish I was someone else
I think I can figure it out
But I'm gonna need a little help to get me
Need a little help to get me
I think I can figure it out
But I'm gonna need a little help to get me through it
To get me through it
I'll try to work this out
I'll try to get it on
I'd like to tell you that I'm ready
For whatever's coming
But to be honest there's a part of me
That loses control
I think I can figure it out
But I'm gonna need a little help to get me
Need a little help to get me
I think I can figure it out
But I'm gonna need a little help to get me
Need a little help to get me
I think I can figure it out
But I'm gonna need a little help to get me
Need a little help to get me
Need a little help to get me
Need a little help to get me through it
Thought everybody was against me
All those conquered eyes and Christmases alone
But I need a lot of angry organs
Are we copacetic? Are we behaving now?

Thanks for the help <3 :D
from the lyric book: (corrections bolded)
1st verse (chunk 3 and 4): Filling up on endless insights from other people's ugly insides. All this bitterness is starting to grow cold. When comfort is an empty evening hanging onto complications, Sometimes quicksand has massive appeal to me.
2nd verse: (second chunk after the 1st chorus) And now we re-align the edges. I'm doing very well; I thank you. All this empathy is starting to wear me down.
Bridge: (2nd chunk after 2nd chorus) I'd like to tell you that I'm ready for whatever's coming, But to be honest, there's a part of me that loses control.
I think it's
from other people's LOVELY insides.
Im fairly sure it isnt SOFTLY but I couldnt find anything else it could be at the time.. I either hear ugly or lovely =S
I hear "Filling up on ENDLESS _____....", but i cannot figure out the word after "endless"...
I think it's actually
"filling up on endless enzymes from other people's lovely insides."
I thought I'd contribute the first interpretation...
I think this song is about friends and associates trying to help out but coming across as attacking and condescending even though they don't mean to, and feeling like they're all against you. Sometimes it might feel easier to drown in "quick sand" than to take on board what these people are saying. And finally you realise things and figure things out, but you still need the help from those same people.
It seems like a thank you to me.
I love how he references "Indoor Living" from "I Am The Movie." In that song, he doesn't think he can succeed. In this song, he does.
Btw, I disagree completely with warlord. He isn't thanking anyone. He's simply saying, "I can do this, but not completely alone. Can you help?"
"I always knew I had the answer But I never understood the question"
I really like this song...to me it just seems like he can and knows he can do it but he can't do it by himself. Not exactly like he needs help, but he needs support and words of support. A few votes of confidence too.
it's too bad this band doesn't put the lyrics in their CD sleeve. I would have preferred that over the crappy dinosaur artwork they filled it with instead.
anyways I think the first verse is "conquered odds and Christmases alone" conquered odds makes sense, conquered eyes doesn't
