Going blind from the heat
In the middle of a sunlit street
Seeing thoughts on repeat
But I'd rather get something to eat
Feeling senseless and beat
And I wonder at the chance that we'll meet

Deadbeat summer
It's just a deadbeat summer

You're the one that I miss
From last summer when I'd stolen a kiss
Hear the endless hiss
As it rolls into the starlit abyss
All my dreams reminisce
Never thought this time it'd be like this

Deadbeat summer
It's just a deadbeat summer

He wants to get together to a specific girl, but they don't seem to meet each other. He flirts and hangs out with other girls, but it's just a deadbeat summer, because his dreams are not coming true

I think this lyrics work best:

come and run from the heat in the middle of a sunlit street seeing thoughts in repeat but i'd rather get something to eat feeling senseless and beat and i wonder if through chance we will meet (i'm not sure about this so i'll just take your word for it)

deadbeat summer it's just a deadbeat summer

    My Interpretation

In addition to what's already been said, the lyrics "seeing thoughts on repeat, but I'd rather get something to eat" seem to portray being high on marijuana, anyone else agree?

    My Interpretation

Perhaps the world is selfish, because if other girls let themselves be charmed, then they do not care about him, but about themselves. They should care to be straight and to help him find his way out, and be happy with his sweet wife, that is what true happiness is. Escaping and searching for someone else is not the way. She cares and would not do anything like that. Besides, why would she let temptations when she knows what brings peace? She cares about him more than he knows or thinks. Yes, he is beautiful and charming, and yes, I can see how easy it would be, but no, it is not right. What matters is what is right, what builds someone's character, peace and happiness. The pain will not go if she went with him. The pain is deeper and can only be healed in other ways. She would be a true friend, even hug him, but she would keep the friendship pure. She respects how he feels about the way he wants to live his life and would never judge him, because she adores him as he is. She wishes that he could accept the friendship and accept her with what she believes, even if what she believes seems so strange to him :) and she will not talk about what she believes if he does not want to hear it. I can respect that :0) Batty :)

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Led Zeppelin
This is about bronies. They communicate by stomping.

When We Were Young
Blink-182
This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
