It's late but I'm not finished yet
I'm stuck like a half-smoked cigarette
Between mates and the chances of something happenin'
She's in a group, she might be leaving soon

For a club or just a taxi home
I'd like to be in a taxi by her
Take a chance, make my move
Could be knocked back and they would all see

My mates and hers, it will be ugly
Or maybe it'll work and this night would be
More than just jabber to my mates and me
She's just leaving holes in your memory

Swing test to a heart in her sleeve
Instead I'll be back at her under the sheets
With TV on and she would smell good
We'll wake up and go to work, the world would be alright for once

(That's the reason, that's the reason, that's the reason)
There ain't no home tonight
(That's the reason, that's the reason, that's the reason)
There ain't no home tonight

(That's the reason, that's the reason, that's the reason)
I asked her for a light
(That's the reason, that's the reason, that's the reason)
There ain't no home tonight

Yeah, I have to use your toothbrush
I know that you may not like that much
But stop for a second Freda while you touch
Most girl's magazines, blah, blah, blah

(That's the reason, that's the reason, that's the reason)
I ain't going home tonight
(That's the reason, that's the reason, that's the reason)
I ain't going home tonight

(That's the reason, that's the reason, that's the reason)
I asked her for a light
(That's the reason, that's the reason, that's the reason)
I ain't going home tonight

(That's the reason)
Then you'd wake up
(That's the reason)
You were holding my hand

(That's the reason)
Fall asleep again
(That's the reason)
Big smile on my face

(That's the reason, that's the reason, that's the reason)
I ain't going home tonight
(That's the reason, that's the reason, that's the reason)
I ain't going home tonight

(That's the reason, that's the reason, that's the reason)
I asked her for a light
(That's the reason, that's the reason, that's the reason)
I ain't going home tonight

I was just as stumped on this song for a while because he slurs the words together so closely but I think I figured out a lot after one car ride home so I'll post the the song the way I hear it with some changes as well as adding to the blanks, with some parts still missing:

Mind you, a lot of this is blurred together when he sings it, but I think it makes a lot of sense in the context of the song

It's late but I'm not finished yet I'm stuck like a half smoked cigarette but too late and so are the chances of it happenin' she's in a group, she might be leaving soon for a club or just a taxi home I'd like to be in a taxi by her but I'll take a chance, make my move Couldn't knock back or they would all see (??? on this one) my mates and her's, it would be ugly or maybe it'll work and this night will be more than just jabber to my mates and me; She just leaving holes in your memory. ??? ??? ??? to a ??? ??? ??? instead I'll be back in her loft under the sheets with TV on and she will smell good we could even make it work, the world would be alright for once

(That's the reason, that's the reason, that's the reason) I ain't going home tonight (that's the reason, that's the reason, that's the reason) I ain't going home tonight (that's the reason, that's the reason, that's the reason) I asked her for a light (that's the reason, that's the reason, that's the reason) I ain't going home tonight

Ya I have to use your toothbrush I know that you may not like that much but stop for a second Freda, "Why you ????" most girl's names mean blah blah blah

(That's the reason) then you'd wake up (that's the reason) you were holding my hand (that's the reason) fall asleep again (that's the reason) big smile on my face

Can anyone make out all the missing words? I'm not 100% sure what they are...

Thanks for your help jasonveraSC! You really cleaned that up a lot. There are some lyrics there that I just can't hear though so I edited it to that effect. Is there anyone else out there that can make out the the rest or correct mistakes if there are some?

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
