Full Circle Lyrics

Got your freedom now boy
Who do you serve
Took for granted what you, should have preserved
No time left, no time left, to make amends
Keep burning bridges while you're buying your new friends
A day of reflection hits, you're a shell, skin and bones, counting costs
Is it worth your soul
A day of reflection hits

It's funny how times can change, rearrange and distance makes
The pain fade away
So important then, doesn't matter now
Both feet on the ground
Come full circle, yeah, come full circle

No access granted now boy, you've been denied
Jump a fence to see what's on the other side
Are you wanted, are you wanted
The question is, could second chances mean another impression
A day of reflection hits, your you're a shell, skin and bones, counting costs
Is it worth your soul
A day of reflection hits

It's funny how times can change, rearrange, and distance makes
The pain fade away
So important then, doesn't matter now
Both feet on the ground
Come full circle, we've come full circle

I got one foot stuck in heaven, yeah
One boot stuck in hell
I looked at God, he winked at me
I made this mess myself
Don't be surprised and don't deny
Hear every word I say
Close the door and don't look back or you will fade away

It's funny how times can change, rearrange and distance makes
The pain fade away

It's funny how times can change, rearrange and distance makes
The pain fade away
So important then, doesn't matter now
Both feet on the ground
Come full circle, full circle, come full circle
We have come, full circle

Creed's every album always has some great songs, just like this one.

I think it's about recovering from am emotional event which was painful but now as recovered that's why freadom from that burden, the man thinks that how funny it is time heals everything, It was so important to overcome this pain at a point of time i past but now there is nothing special about it.

I find this inspirational to a certain extent.

I guess circle is normal then pain then recovry then normal again,

Come full circle, yeah, come full circle Come full circle, yeah, come full circle

Thanx AB

It seems like it's Adam's story. His free life and his fall from Eden Garden. He knows God didn't left him behind (he winked at me), but he also has to hear God, to no be suprised and don't deny Him. At last, he must let his past behind, then go on without looking back.

I would like to add my thorough analysis of the song line by line. I completely agree with AB. I had to go through a similar situation. When I first heard the song I was like "Good Lord Scott Stapp sang it just for me" So here goes my analysis.

Got your freedom now boy Who do you serve Took for granted what you, should have preserved No time left, no time left, to make amends Keep burning bridges while you're buying your new friends

Here, I guess, these lines talk about a past traumatic event involving two hearts, two souls. The guy certainly did something wrong and the girl left him. He got his freedom. He took her love for granted and had hurt her badly, Her love was something he should have preserved but he made a costly mistake and lost her in the process. But it was too late to say sorry and win her back again. So he is being advised to "keep burning bridges" the connections, all the memories, the reminiscences regarding his ex while he is stepping into a new world.

A day of reflection hits, you're a shell, skin and bones, counting costs Is it worth your soul A day of reflection hits

That's step 2. He is free in a way. But still his old memories return sometimes to haunt him. Again he is being reminded whatever happened has happened. Is it worth it? to destroy his own life? being all stagnant? being stuck in a shell? trying to balance between the good and the bad times in his past relationship which ultimately yields no fruitful consequences.

It's funny how times can change, rearrange, and distance makes The pain fade away So important then, doesn't matter now Both feet on the ground Come full circle, we've come full circle

Step 3 .. Time has it's way of healing anything. When he looks back at his shattered past, he relaizes that time has changed everything, made him stronger cleaned his ruummaged situation. He's back on the ground and taking a firm step towards his future abolishing his past. From desolation and agony .. to trying to deal with the pain and finally salvation .. the full circle.

No access granted now boy, you've been denied Jump a fence to see what's on the other side Are you wanted, are you wanted The question is, could second chances mean another impression

He tried to win her back, but all the roads he had taken were simply dead ends from her side. May be she also got over him. So no matter how much he still loved her. He had to move on forward and carry on with his life.

I got one foot stuck in heaven, yeah One boot stuck in hell I looked at God, he winked at me I made this mess myself Don't be surprised and don't deny Hear every word I say Close the door and don't look back or you will fade away

Here I guess Adam is talking to the guy. Adam kinda compares his own situation with the guy. Adam and the guy they both made similar mistakes. Adam got banished from heaven n the gut got banished from the gal's heart. So Adam is advising the boy to walk away and start a new life. Close all the doors of past and walk towards a future, his past offers nothing but spells only doom for the guy now!

well, that's my explantion. I suffered, I got ostracized from my gal's heart whom I loved insanely. And I walked my share of the Full Circle.

The whole song is about choosing between greed, or selflessness. The song says, "Keep burning bridges while you're buying your new friends A day of reflection hits, you're a shell, skin and bones, counting costs Is it worth your soul?" It means what it says, choosing to become part of the world (corruption, love, greed and pride) or choosing the other side (love, service and honor). You have to choose what side you're on and Stapp chooses the side of the Lord.
