This is such a beautiful part of the song. Although I think this song is directed towards his past relationship w/his ex-fiancee, this part can be related to any relationship. Such as w/God, faith, boyfriend/girlfriend, etc. The meaning of something to us is so different from the eyes of any other person. Therefore, whose opinion matters at all in a problem but your own?
He is over all the stuff hes created in his mind and is ready to move foward and forget about the past
