Beautiful Bride Lyrics

Unified diversity
Functioning as one body
Every part encouraged by the other
No one independent of another
Irreplaceable, indispensable
You're incredible
Incredible

Beautiful bride
Body of Christ
One flesh abiding
Strong and unifying
Fighting ends in forgiveness
Unite and fight all division
Beautiful bride

Strengthen your arms now
Train your fingers for battle
Urgency's here now
Train your fingers for battle
Fighting this violence
With your feet wrapped in peace
Sad tears and silence
Now screams of joy
Victory

Beautiful bride
Body of Christ
One flesh abiding
Strong and unifying
Fighting ends in forgiveness
Unite and fight all division
Beautiful bride

Beautiful bride
Body of Christ
One flesh abiding
Strong and unifying

We're not gonna fall and forget
How far You went to pick us up
If one part's hurt the whole body's sick
If one part mourns we all mourn with Him
Rejoice, and we'll sing with You
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Beautiful bride
Body of Christ
One flesh abiding
Strong and unifying
Fighting ends in forgiveness
Unite and fight all division
Beautiful bride

Beautiful bride
Body of Christ
One flesh abiding
Strong and unifying
Fighting ends in forgiveness
Unite and fight all division
Beautiful bride

This is an awesome song. I saw them live the other day, and this is just a great song, recorded or live. This song's obviously about the body of Christ. How Christians are apart of each other and need to support and encourage each other. How we all feels the effects of what's going on with the other parts of the "body of Christ".

I honestly thought this song had the same general meaning, then I looked closer at the meanings, Beautiful bride? Why not Handsome groom? Or if this song is about Jesus/Christ why not Jesus? The song is probably about a sinning bride, and she is having a fight with the groom and she thinks of Jesus, and "Fighting ends in forgivness' is what she figures out, and thinks of how he gave his life and how they should basically stay together, Yada yada. Im not christian, nor do I believe in God, but I believe there was a man named jesus, and I have read the bible, as well as the books regarding other religons, and Thats what I got from this song.

Ps. To flyleaf: My favorite album yet! dont wait so long for the next!

Song Meaning

The Church can be referred to as the bride.

Jesus came down from heaven to be with the church (when he became incarnate.) He married the church and that is why the people are called His bride. Through marriage the groom (Jesus) and the bride (Church) are together both body and soul. Jesus continues to be with us through Consecration - when the bread and wine is transfigured into the body and blood of Jesus.

I hope that makes sense ehehehehehe.

oh yeah..

The Church is also commonly referred to as the "Body of Christ". The church is not a building but it is a community of people staying "strong and unified"

I'm guessing (but i could be wrong) this song is about the bride fighting against all of the evil in this world.

maya, you're a bit off. in the analogy the groom, jesus, has yet to come and marry the bride. in biblical times there was a betrothal period during which the bride and groom were separated until the wedding. likewise, the bride of christ is separate from her groom during the church age, which is now. the church will be united with christ in the second coming, the official "wedding" will happen and then the eternal union of christ and his bride will be actualised (revelation 19:7-9; 21:1-2)

i think that this song is about Jesus' bride. Which is the church. So calling the church beautiful. that's my guess. it's such a good song, and i can't wwait for momento mori.

Jesus married a church? The bible makes even more sense by the day.

The church was pretty much like Jesus' home while he was on Earth, if that makes any sense. And calling the church his Bride would be like saying they are one, essentially. (I say that because when you get married you become one flesh; my parents are marriage counselors.) That's my take on it.

i freakin luv this song. i just think that it's about all christians and that they're a beautiful diversity, encouraged by eachother to stay christian, no one an independent christian, and that they function as one body of christians under Jesus. and if someones sick Jesus is hurt, and if Jesus mourns over something, the body (christians) would all mourn. there's more that i think but it would take a while for me to finish so. luv this song.

My Opinion

I'd say the lyrics are pretty much self-explanatory on this one. It's about how all Christians make up the body of Christ and how no matter what our differences, we are all serving the same Christ.

Definately one of my favorites off of the new album.

I personally think this song is not just about how christians are one people, but how the whole human race is divided by things that put into perspective are quite small, and how in order for there to be peace and in order for us to live how jesus would want us to live (love one another etc.) we need to put aside our differences and work as one supporting people not hurting and destroying them.

I basically agree with everything said above. This song is a call to Christians of all kinds and from all places to unite and be strong; to not waste a moment in spreading Christ’s teachings to the rest of the world. Life is short, we are all mortal, and there is no time to be fighting one another or letting people’s lives slip by without Christ in them. The song is more about how things should be than how they are.

i love flyleaf. i love how they are hard and how lacey can scream in her songs and have that very hard rock feeling but have God underlying in almost all of their songs. it's very symbolic of how no matter what we do in life, God underlies somewhere. i'm not a big christian and i dont go to church or anything, but i love their songs and their meanings.
