The lyrics of this song are very vague. I wonder, do the first two lines refer to the fall from paradise?
"Free the will to try" - free will to try the apple i.e. choose free will instead of obedience to God, and try the "apple" i.e. fall into temptation
"adapting over time" - the consequence of this is to fall, and lose immortality. Adapting over time to deal with disease, and death (the overall theme of the album Last Regret is from)
