There are two things about this song I don't understand completely.
One being the lines "I took the fire escape and made it out alive Yeah I still burn from time to time but I've a healing hand against my side"
And the other being "You'll take me home Like my family did, my father did I know."
What does he mean by those things?

When i first heard the song i wasnt sure what he was meaning by the whole song itself. I thought he was talking about the end of the band itself. Its possible but idk anything about it...

i believe it's saying that the temptation of cheating was present and he resisted it. but ofcourse, one doesn't always get away unscathed.
