Everybody pay attention to me
I got the answer
I got the answer
We'll rock it to ya with a capital G
So get your hands up
SO get your hands up

Ain't nobody gonna dance tonight
Ain't nobody gonna get the best of me
Saint peter come and save my soul
I've come to show you how we rock and roll
Come and see what sinks and floats
Jumping up because everybody knows

Wanna party?
Get on the dance floor
You wanna dance up on the catwalk
You do it alright
You got the answer
And all the good times will give you cancer

Alright, do it again
Or maybe kill ourselves then live again
With the lights off do it again
Cause it's always, always the same old trend

Blown away
How does it feel to be outclassed
So get your hands up, get your hands up
Right after me you want to pick up whats left
So play a 5th note, play a 5th note

Ain't nobody gonna take my life
Ain't nobody gonna get the best of me
Saint Peter come and save me now
Saint Peter gonna show you how
Everybody do the party theme
I'm gonna show you what we've got

Wanna party?
Get on the dance floor
You wanna dance up on the catwalk
You do it alright
You got the answer
And all the good times will give you cancer

Alright, do it again
Or maybe kill ourselves then live again
With the lights off do it again
Oh my god, oh my god it's the same old trend

Run away, run away
Run away, run away
Alright, kill the party, kill the party tonight
We'll kill the party, kill the party tonight, lets go

Wanna party?
Get on the dance floor
You wanna dance up on the catwalk
You do it alright, i got the answer
You got a good time to get it, get it out

Wanna party?
Get on the dance floor
You wanna dance up on the catwalk
Alright do it again
When we kill ourselves we will live again
With the lights off do it again
Come on everybody get down
Till the party breaks down
Everybody get down
Till the party breaks down
Till the party breaks down tonight

I can't wait for the fourth album.

Gerard was quoted as saying this is his most favorite song the band's ever done-- " To me, it's the greatest song we've ever written – it's my favorite MCR song."

I've heard it once, live, when they were at the Roxy Theatre some two months back.

Oh my God, this shit is terrible. I honestly cannot say how disappointed I am in this band. For God's sake, they used to be so damned amazing. Their lyrics used to actually be meaningful, and all this is, is bullshit.

I've loved them since their very beginning, but if this song is an example of what the rest of the album is... Then all I have to say is "what the fuck". Honestly. They've been working on this damned album for FOUR YEARS, and this shit is the best they can do?

    I can't believe this... -_-'

I might be wrong, but I thought the lyrics to the chorus were: "This ain't a party, Get off the dancefloor, You wanna get down, I want a gang war." That's what NME says anyway! XD I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEW ALBUM!!! They'd better tell us the release date soon or I'll go mad!

amazing. i've been waiting for a new song from mcr for a long time. the new album letter for rock and roll seems to be a come back from their old style. this lyrics really shows how Gee wanted the song to be more of a rock and roll thing. it feels different for me but still i really liked it. my favorite part was "or maybe kill ourselves then live again" it sounds so smart. LoL. i can't get the exact meaning of the song yet.. Maybe i'll just have to listen to it more. Rock on MCR! =]

Step
Ministry
Both as a standalone and as part of the DSOTS album, you can take this lyric as read. As a matter of public record, Jourgensen's drug intake was legendary even in the 1980s. By the late 90s, in his own words, he was grappling with massive addiction issues and had lost almost everything: friends, spouse, money and had nearly died more than once. "Dark Side of the Spoon" is a both funny & sad title for an album made by a musical genius who was losing the plot; and this song is a message to his fans & friends saying he knows it. It's painful to listen to so I'm glad the "Keith Richards of industrial metals" wised up and cleaned up. Well done sir.

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
