Someone Who Cares Lyrics
Every street in this city is the same to me
Everyones got a place to be
But theres no room for me
Am I to blame when the guilt and the shame
Hang over me
Like a dark cloud that chases you down
In the pouring rain
Its so hard to find someone who cares about you
But its easy enough to find someone who
Looks down on you
Why is it so hard to find someone who cares about you?
When its easy enough to find someone who looks down on you
Its not what it seems
When youre not on the scene
Theres a chill in the air
But theres people like me
That nobody sees
So nobody cares
Why is it so hard to find someone who cares about you?
When its easy enough to find someone who looks down on you
Why is it so hard to find someone who can keep it together?
When youve come undone
Why is it so hard to find someone who cares about you?
I swear this time it wont turn out the same
Cause now Ive got myself to blame
And youll know when we end up on the streets
That its easy enough to find someone who looks down on you
Why is it so hard to find someone who cares about you?
When its easy enough to find someone who looks down on you
Why is it so hard to find someone who can keep it together?
When youve come undone
Why is it so hard to find someone who cares about you?
Everyones got a place to be
But theres no room for me
Am I to blame when the guilt and the shame
Hang over me
Like a dark cloud that chases you down
In the pouring rain
But its easy enough to find someone who
Looks down on you
When its easy enough to find someone who looks down on you
When youre not on the scene
Theres a chill in the air
But theres people like me
That nobody sees

When its easy enough to find someone who looks down on you

This song really makes me empathize with kids who are "uncool" or "unpopular" in school. So many freakin people look down on them because they act different or express themselves in a awkward way. How would I feel if that happened to me? I would, of course feel like dirt.
These people who are looked down on are just like me and you. they feel the same emotions and feel the same pain. How would it feel to have nobody who cares about you? ... :(
I truly hope this song causes many people to empathize with people like this instead of looking down on them. I know we could all afford to put more energy into loving and caring about people who are less fortunate then us. Nobody's perfect, but that's no excuse for not even trying.
that's how my school is... and i am part of the unpopular.

I love TDG for actually making emotional lyrics that stay blunt. I get sick of the subtle lyrics bands get overly showy with occasionally. I cannot say I have ever disliked a TDG song. They're just too honest.
I agree, TDG has been like this from the start. They're an amazing band. I really hope they don't ever change the way they are.

xtrole: wrong... I have lots of friends... and this song fits me... it can have something to do with love also.. I believe.. we all have our own opinions of song meanings...
Why is it so hard to find someone who can keep it together? When you've come undone Why is it so hard to find someone who cares about you?
I didn't mean that the song can only apply to the example that I gave. It is a song that can relate to a lot of people and situations. The one I gave about "uncool kids" is the most extreme case of the song that I see. I mean, if the song relates to you even though you have lost of friends just imagine how much more pain a kid would feel who didn't really have friends and was disliked by almost everybody. It seems like it would be almost unbearable.

I honestly think this song is about homeless people. im not saying the other interpretations are not correct it could very well have more than one meaning, but just think about the homeless when u hear this... the REAL homeless.
I totally agree. In its most literal interpretation it's about homeless people. I'm not saying the song can't mean different things to different people but to me that interpretation easily trumps any other emotional meaning people extract from it. Like, if I'm unpopular in school and no one seems to care for me there, well, that's not nearly as bad as having to live on whichever street looks good tonight, or under whichever bridge the local serial killer isn't using at the moment... I mean, I have a good home and I'm getting an education (I'm 20 so this is...

words cannot express the mixture of feelings this song brings out in me...
These lyrics are deeply true. Sometimes you don't just find a song but you find yourself in its lyrics when you are lost. And I think that's exactly what music is about: telling stories and sharing feelings that people can relate to. After listening to this song I felt so understood. The lyrics mean really much to me... and I am thankful for musicians like TDG that express so much in one song.
This song has to be my favorite on the new album. and i completely agree with Synidaeum. the meaning is pretty obvious its the chorus.
Why is it so hard to find someone who cares about you? When its easy enough to find someone who looks down on you Why is it so hard to find someone who can keep it together? When youve come undone Why is it so hard to find someone who cares about you?
those are the truest lyrics i have ever heard. i love how TDG can do that. they just bring it all out and dont hold back on what has to be said. this song is amazing. this song is purely amazing.
Common freaking sense "Its so hard to find someone who cares about you. But its easy enough to find someone who looks down on you.." People like me it IS hard to find someone who cares when I'm always getting stuck with the bad... Maybe I just have a hard time trying to keep them...
This song is my theme song...
Well.. I have that one person but... he is my ex kind of... and we don't talk much anymore but if something bad happens he will be there to keep me calm and keep me from doing something stupid.. No matter what we have ever went through... <3
This song makes so much sense. I am completely and utterly in love with it.
