This thing called life goes by so quickly
One day you're here and then you're gone
This is the moment I've lived my whole life for
And I'll never give up, I've waited too long
I've waited
Waited too long
I've waited too long
And all along the road, all the bodies left behind
May all have been good friends, just not good friends of mine
I've been kicked out and I said I quit
Then I said, "I had enough" and "This is it"
All I wanted was just one more show for the road
'Cause it was over last time before I could blink, I could blink
I've waited
Waited too long
I've waited too long
And all along the road, all the bodies left behind
May all have been good friends, just not good friends of mine
Their bodies left behind
One day you're here and then you're gone
This is the moment I've lived my whole life for
And I'll never give up, I've waited too long
Waited too long
I've waited too long
May all have been good friends, just not good friends of mine
Then I said, "I had enough" and "This is it"
All I wanted was just one more show for the road
'Cause it was over last time before I could blink, I could blink
Waited too long
I've waited too long
May all have been good friends, just not good friends of mine
Their bodies left behind

This song and all of Endgame for that matter is great. The whole album is amazing. as for this song, it seems like it may be just simply saying to life life, cause it goes by quick, and once it's gone, it's gone. I'm sure theres more to it, and I could be ompletly off. But hey, no one else will comment ion it, so i figured i'd take a stab at it.
Yep, totally agree. Amazing and refreshing album... and this'd be my favorite song from it.

Your analysis is correct on the most basic of levels, BUT:

This song is absolutely and without a doubt about Dave's experience being kicked out of Metalli(shit)ca and his gloating at seeing them now fall behind him, finally, on the 'road'.

I seriously don't get why you, the so-called "Megadeth biggest fans" flame Metallica for kicking Mustaine out of the band. Even though i'm a fan of both bands' music, in my opinion Mustaine is a hypocrite for making such a big deal out of it, when he has kicked countless musicians out of the band for drugs and alcohol abusing (that is the reason Hetfield kicked him out of MetallicA back in the 80s, if you're that ignorant).

You then go on to insult MetallicA (Metallshitca) when we both are certain you are nowhere near Metallica's legacy. Noone,...
You then go on to insult MetallicA (Metallshitca) when we both are certain you are nowhere near Metallica's legacy. Noone, and i mean it cuz i've been in numerous concerts, can be compared to the feeling Metallica spreads when they go on stage.
It's fuckheads like you who go on to keep the quarell between Mustaine and Metallica alive, when Dave himself has said that he has no problem with Kirk, James or Lars.
Personally i can't wait to see MetallicA, Megadeth, Anthrax and Slayer on 24 June in Athens.
Farewell
This song talks about Mustaine's musical career and how Endgame is a victory over the rest of the metal scene and his "friends" who kicked him out last time. He's waited too long for this and while many other bands have come and gone, Megadeth remains constant while "all their bodies left behind".
