heavy fucking song... just becuase you support your troops does not mean you have to support the war they fight... just their bravery. becuase they have earned our respect.
If anything, this is against war itself, like liberals are. I'm liberal, and I think war is pointless. However I do have respect for those who have died for our country. This song, to me, sounds more anti-war, and also sounds that it could be against all the conservatives who love war, and love to use it for their own personal gains
That's a very ignorant reply. I don't see anywhere he indicates Conservatives are the war-hungry bastards, nor does he say liberals, Democrats or Republicans are. He's talking about politicians in general. Not once does he mention, or describe the principles of EITHER party. It's the whole of the political leadership he's referring to, and how they are all willing to throw young lives out there, and start saying, "We are winning!" to the public. Hate Conservatives like myself all you like, but don't start interpreting a political song as a bash on us, just because it's a bash song. As a Conservative man, I can say I am anti-war, but you don't understand that it doesn't mean I wouldn't risk it to save the innocent. I'd love a peaceful solution, but if someone threatens the safety of my people, I'd go take those guys out before they take me out in a heartbeat.

To this day, I'm scratching my head as to why President Bush ordered the War in Iraq, but I REFUSE to believe it had to do with oil because that theory just doesn't make sense. However, while I don't understand the War in Iraq, I can still stand behind our troops over there, and hope they get the job done so they can come home sooner. Because whether we like it or not, a responsibility has been thrust upon them, and it's their duty to carry...

We set the stage for "uprising" in the Gulf War and Operation Desert Storm. It became very obvious that the "Rebels" couldn't do it themselves, as they didn't have armoured capabilities and bigger weapons to carry it out.

I spent 2 tours in the "Sand Box" known as Iraq. I saw it first hand... the country's people embraced us during liberation, but we fell short and they got the short end of the stick when we had no SOLID exit strategy... that's what we did wrong. We have left a country pretty FUBAR.

@Armadio2 I think you have a good point there. But I don't think supporting the troops but not the war is a contradiction. Maybe you don't believe that the cause is worth fighting for. You said yourself that idiots in Washington use it for all the fucking wrong reasons. I will admit though it can be confusing but there is some nuance to it.

Ok first of all it is often correct to say a politician only orders men to die and pays no consequence. However to say a General only orders it is pathetic. Everyone starts the same rank. 1 stripe or 1 bar. That General understands more than anybody the pain of a losing a fellow man or woman. To the above jackass commenting about the Army, Air Force, and Navy. Caucasian clearly you are not a military man considering your view of a pussy also contains Delta Force, Green Berets, Combat Controllers, Pararescue, Explosive Ordnance Team, and SEALS all members of the sister branches to the USMC. I would say supporting the troops is independent in supporting a war. However the only people with any right to complain of war are the men and woman who die in them. Also I have a feeling this is not anti-war considering the album is called "War is the Answer"... Liberals are fantastic for complaining about war and violence and conservatives are great at desecrating mankind... Before anyone claims war is pointless please look up how Nazi Germany, Imperial Japan, Soviet Russia, Imperial England, Napoleon, etc were all stopped... Violence solves your problem the difficulty with violence is not allowing it to cause more.

If you send a soldier to fight a war, only for the people who he's fighting for to turn their backs on what he's doing, how can you expect him to fight at his best?

This conflict was started by and for wealthy pigs who've never pointed a gun at anything bigger than a grouse, never even contemplated risking their own lives, let alone taking another's with their bare hands. People who've never faced death have no business sending others to their own.
