Ever since I've been a kid I had the back-head notion,
To get my self some wheels,
Put myself in motion,
Since then I settled for the bus,
Let's not discuss,
Cause ever since then I ain't got no system,
And I miss very much playin' my tapes,
And I miss very much gettin' the gapes,
And stares and hoots and hollers,
Cause when I get my wheels yo I'm gonna spend some dollars,
Soupin' it up, pumpin' it up, hookin' it up,
"Yo baby, what's up?",
I like what I see cause the price is right,
Sign a dotted line,
I started to write,
Paid for in bills,
The tank is filled,
Turn the key,
The girl,
The kill,

I start motivatin', motivatin' on down the line,
Cool about the mile,
Fresh, fresh,
Fresh Lala

Now I never owned a Benz, Porsche, Rolls Royce or a Beamer,
But I got a ride yo,
I think ya seen her,
Her name is Lala,
She'll drive right by ya,
No flames on the side but she's hotter than fire,
Got more convenience than 7-11,
"What year, did you ask?"
Nineteen-sixty-um-seven,
A Buick Skylark
Hark - Did I hear the Harold Angels sing?
I want just the keys on my ring insert to the ignition,
She's a blast from the past and,
Damn, she's kinda fast,
She's like metallic-maroon with white-wall wheels and two carburetors cause I dig how she feels,
Bench seats with my baby next to me,
Wall-to-wall carpet most comfortably,
A smooth engine, yo I gots to get goin',
When I blow my horn she plays the whole damn song

I be motivatin, motivatin' on down the line,
Cool about the mile,
Fresh, fresh,
Fresh Lala

Now a man ain't a man 'til a man's got a ride,
I don't know about that but I know I got mine,
She's lookin' fresh-waxed,
Not a speck of dust,
Not a spot of rust,
And now I gots to say that she's much too much cause,
Brothers might get kinda jealous,
But see I protect my car cause my car for life,
I light her up like Pee Wee's bike,
She's got air-shocks in,
Pumped up and absorbing,
Lights underneath so she float ya like morphine,
"Yeah, you know those blue joints right?",
Yo, she got like every accent I can think of with a system to match,
Oh La, see cause I'm ridin' in style

Cool about the mile,
Fresh, fresh,
Fresh Lala

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
