Otep as the leader of the next religion? No matter what it means, I love it!

is it just me or is Otep getting better and better as each album is released? I mean Sevas Tra was good, House of Secrets was great, The Ascension was awesome, and Smash The Control Machine is a Masterpiece, but I dont think Shamaya is done. I bet the future albums will be even better.

i love otep, and each time i really listen (yes i can understand her screams) the lyrics they are always...well kinda deep. This sounds like it proposes that pagan religion (the worship of Gods not a God) all around the world was taken over by a new God "I've Abolished Your Mythology & Vanquished All Your Gods" The Goddesses she mentions are in order Egyptian, Babylonian, Greek (that creepily resembles the Statue of Liberty), and Hindu so she is talking about something Global. It is hard to tell from what point of view she is singing from, christian? A confused Society? I dono, but i wonder about "I Broke the Bones Of Kronos To Restore What Was Mine" So is she saying God is older then Kronos and there really was some battle of the Gods most ancient cultures write about? "I'm Sharpening My Halo Into Forest Horns" kinda sounds like the return from Christian to Pagan, turning the halo into forest horns both things that are related to Christians and these ancient cultures mentioned. It just makes you think about what dose she read and watch on her spare time to make her write lyrics like this and if they come from a belief of hers or...someone else is writing them 0_0 I will stop here lol. please post what you think of this song!

I see this song once again as a strike against her oppressive father the christian faith and all other religous forms that claim to be the only true faith , and the oppression of women/womens rights , hence the opening verse starting with Im sharpening my halo into forest horns " sort of a in with the new and out with the old theme , it all seems geared around her central issues from the first cd all the way to this one , shamayas a genius and i hope one day to have the privilige to meet her . i dont believe its anything she reads or watches i believe its more what she grew up as a child and teen through . the whole first verse is her building herself up above in my opininon her fathers beliefs that was forced upon her , along with the second verse also , most times a reference to sulphur , pertains to evil / hell / demons ... if any one has anything else they would like to share , post . if youd like to chat , exchange poetry or lyrics . you can message me for my email or aim . thanks and blessings to you all

I could be insanely wrong about my theory. I couldn't decipher this song for so long. I used to think it was about mother nature taking earth back from humans. But I think we're in the end of days. This song is a warning that the end is near.

To me, this song sounds like it's about a lot of what the book of Revelations talks about (I also think the point of view switches around from one to another). This song talks about God being angry at humanity for pushing him away and following false gods. "I've Abolished Your Mythology & Vanquished All Your Gods....I Put Books In the Temple To Annihilate the Lie I Broke the Bones Of Kronos To Restore What Was Mine"

It also talks about the end of the world (which in the Bible it says the world will end in flames, a lot of people think that means atomic bombs will end the world) "All the children sing along, thank God for the atom bomb"

I also believe it talks about the events that will lead up to Christ's second coming (this is where my theory gets kinda crazy). A lot of people (including myself) believe that the implementation of a new world order by the Antichrist will be through RFID chips. The people who refuse (including Christians, who God says will suffer greatly during the end of the world) will be put into FEMA camps and eventually get cyanide if they can't be persuaded to get the chips. You're all right and wrong..it's another masterpiece by shamaya..I don't believe it has anything to do with her father..but destroying false religions..otep has always been about demonstrating love through lyrics of hate of the way the world has twisted everything..thank god for the atom bomb..get it?

To me the entire song is about how we are all above..or should feel above the false gods we praise..a stronger link to those that we feel a commonality with rather than what we were told as children to believe in. A connection you feel more than some man made scribbles. Atavist ;-)

Also the last phrases are classic otep..completely defiant till the end
