Last sad kids can get stick their eyeball wicks
Heretic, plastic, critics fade out
Flash! Headon crush, fall on trash, band on ash, keep on slash,
Go on heaps and heaps, lead a flash point, flash bulb blows up!
Test 1, yes. Test 2, no
Next test? No need to test, it's waste!
Flash headon crash, blacklight sparks, keep on rush, get on wish,
Go on beep out beeps, lead a flash point, flasket breaks up!
Electric, archaic, cosmic, doubt....
Clash! Just straight to their eyeball wicks
Heretic, frolic, skeptic, fade......out!

"What's your name? Aim? Get the factor, shoot!
What's your hate? Game? Get the tester, loose!
What's your name? Aim? Get the buffer, take!
Pass the factor, I got my flashgun to click!
Set the flashbulb, like a beam on your left eye
Put it down, your eyes go spy
Move a bit left, like a straight to your eye wick
Get it back, your sight goes white
Zoom the focus, like a beam on my mark
Put it back, my eyes don't sigh
Set the flashgun, like a beam, like an aim,
To stop that chatter, shut them down!!
So just click my flashgun spark and split!
Get my finger blow and skip!
Hit your forehead, you quack!
I pick it up and put it back to my hand
Sharp the razor bright and straight
Keen the feeler clean and tight,
To hit the boaster cross the boarder
I pick up the splinter....."

Flash! Just straight to their eyeball wicks
Heretic, plastic, critics fade out
Last sad kids can keep on harsh
Electric, archaic, cosmic, I doubt...
Clash! Just straight to their eyeball wicks
Heretic, frolic, skeptic, fade out........

This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
