On My Own Lyrics

Just say, say it ain't so;
This is not the home that I know;
I never thought I'd let you down,
Never thought I'd let you down;
You promised - promised not to let me drown;

In my daydreams, you take over me;
In these daydreams, you take over me!

Can I make it on my own?
Will I ever feel my limbs again?
Is this all in my mind?

Can I make it on my own?
Will I ever feel that way again?
Am I losing my mind?

No way - it's not the same;
This place has had its way;
I swore to never let you down,
I never thought I'd let you down;
I'm sorry - I'm sorry that I let you drown;

(Something's always pulling me underground)

Is there something staring back at me?
Is there something waiting there for me?
But there never really was ...
No, there never really was ...
And there never really was ...

Will my daydreams take over me?
Will these daydreams take over me?

(Something's always pulling me under ...)

I think it's "daydreams" not "deep dreams", "underground" not "onto ground", "Is there something staring back at me?", "But there never really was", and "Open your eyes, tell me why. Open your eyes, you still sleep with it" (twice)

I think you're right, that makes a lot more sense!

Right, so, here's what I got from the booklet. It doesn't give lyrics for the outro, though.

-- Just say, say it ain't so; This is not the home that I know; I never thought I'd let you down, Never thought I'd let you down; You promised - promised not to let me drown;

In my daydreams, you take over me; In these daydreams, you taken over me!

Can I make it on my own? Will I ever feel my limbs again? Is this all in my mind?

Can I make it on my own? Will I ever feel that way again? Am I losing my mind?

No way - it's not the same; This place has had its way; I swore to never let you down, I never thought I'd let you down; I'm sorry - I'm sorry that I let you drown;

(Something's always pulling me underground)

Is there something staring back at me? Is there something waiting there for me? But there never really was ... No, there never really was ... And there never really was ...

Will my daydreams take over me? Will these daydreams take over me?

I also think he's saying "Just Say it ain't So" I may be wrong but that's what it sounds like to me

Anyways really good song, really well written

wow good call that's probably it

anyone else think the 'open your eyes' part sounds ridiculously like thrice

I agree. There are several parts throughout the new album that remind me of Thrice.

Wow, it does sound a bit like Dustin Kensrue. Slightly reminds me of the softer parts of "The Earth Will Shake."

Correcting a typo:

-- *In my daydreams, you take over me; In these daydreams, you take over me!
