The meaning of this song is pretty self explanatory. He's talking about how the world is so fucked up that he doesn't want to be a part of it and struggles with thoughts of suicide as a result. He is stuck on the "dark side" because there is so much bad that it drowns out the good.
While I agree with Cyanyde that the true meaning of the song is about suicidal thoughts, there is another theme that runs parallel in the lyrics; and while Lupe may not have written it intentionally, it’s interesting that it’s there and I have to wonder… In the Christian world view Jesus is known as â€�the Doorâ€�. Entering through â€�the Doorâ€� is the only way to be with God where there is peace, fulfillment and purpose.
