I cant really figure this song out ? 'I hate to see you leave but I love to watch you go', that does not make sense to me lol. Isnt he leaving when she watches him go? So there kinda the same thing ? But she hates it and loves it ? Awk a duno lol.

I think she means that when he leaves on his own, it hurts her, but when she tells him to leave, she knows that it's the right thing to do, and it doesn't hurt her as much because it was her choice. They constantly have problems, but they get back together every time, for some reason. He leaves constantly, and she gets upset when he does, but when he's told to leave, she's perfectly fine, and she loves it, because she knows that's the right thing. Just what I think. :)

I personally take it as she hates the thought of him leaving for good, but feels powerful and lifted when he is actually walking away. When he first leaves she loves it and it probably amuses her because she knows he will be coming back the next morning. She hates to see him leave because it is proof that they argue all the time and arent great together maybe? but then loves to watch him TRY to actually break up with her
