but the music ya making gonna make it the
great depression
or your lack of aggression
pull your skirt back down

"i know we facing a recession but the music ya making gonna make it the great depression"

i just smiled when i heard that haha

I also just had to log on to keep it 100.

It's way more simple than that...

keeping it 100 just means staying true to yourself . . . keeping it real.

pretty much stating his dislike for the current sound (even though he's lend help in harboring it for a while) and trying to shift it back to the blueprint/mid 90's sound.

what the hell does he mean: this aint for Z100 'Ye told me to kill ya to keep it 100

off the top it sounds like he's saying: kanye told me to kill this track to keep it moving.. but i could be wrong. thoughts?

lol @ kanye going over the track sounding offended

sick track, can't wait for the album.

you're pretty much right about what he meant and z100 is a radio station in nyc mostly playing pop so he's saying that he doesn't want his music on pop stations

This song is true and is AWESOME! Seriously, how do people with autotune perform. Kanye is ok and t-pain is ok. This is really funny, kanye produced this song, 808s&Heartbreak had good reviews but anyone i ask hates it. I feel autotune ruined kanye.

hah this shit is fucking hard!...good shit!..but the lyrics

"stop your blood clot crying the kid the dog everybody dying no lying"

is just a biggie rip off =|

its not a rip off, he knows everyone knows its biggie, theres no secret he just quotin the king, jay does that shit all the time

Found some interesting lines...

"Bring a blonde preferably with a fat ass who can sing-a-song." Possibly talking about the fat lady who sings when something's over.

"I might wear black four years straight." Obama's our president for four years, which is probably what he's referring to.

And the moment of silence is basically saying that auto-tune is dead, we don't have to hear from it anymore.

haha yo man you're readin in too much, it aint about obama, that dont make sense he's just saying how hard he goes all black all the time, versace shades, straight up brooklyn, thats all

When he says "death of autotune moment of silence" he is referring to when people die or like on 9/11 when there is a moment of silence.

"i may do it myself im so BROOKLYN!"- meaning he may bring back Hip Hop he's so Brooklyn (because Hip Hop is supposly dead)

"[la, la , la , hey, hey, hey good-bye]"- basically showing they he doesn't care if he can't sing, he doesn't need autotune to make music

"pull your skirt back down grow a set man"- calling the people who uses autotune B*tches and to grow some balls

'stop your blood clot crying the kid the dog everybody dying no lying"- Taken from Biggie's song Just A Memory

"you t-pain-ing to much"- using autotune too much

when he says i may do it myself he's talkin bout the bitches that aint goin hard better keep they head up when they walkin into the hood thinkin they hot cuz theyre gonna get their chains tooken and he says since he's so brooklyn and he runs new york, he may even come by and do it himself

@ platan0

He is referring to Z100(pop radio station in NY). Saying his song is not for pop radio station Z100. Instead his song is gonna be played by Hot97, a hip hop and rap radio station in NY. Also, when he says, "ye told me to keep it 100", meaning that it was asked of him to tone down the song to get it more radio plays and get in pop100 weekly billboard charts.

fuck yeah!!! jay z is the shit always keeping it real :) i don't listen to rap much cause there's too much crap like lil wayne and t-pain but i'll never quit listening to hov "ya'll niggas jeans too tight, your colors too bright" ugh i hate those pharrell wannabes! it's soo five years ago; get over it dress like a man!!

and whats the difference from lil Wayne and t-pain and pharrell. and jay-z is better then all of them ever. and /\ they are shit compared to anyone

Cover art for D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune) lyrics by Jay-Z

The general idea behind this song is that Jay-Z feels that todays rappers are too soft ("i am a multi millionaire so how is it im still the hardest nigga here"), and that he is offically "killing" auto-tunes so that rappers (like Kayne) can "get back to rap" ("yeah this death of auto tune moment of silence").
