This song is about suicide, but its definitely not solely because of a relationship.

The line "this place is overwhelming" shows that. It's simply about wanting out of "this place".

I don't have time for a particularly in depth analysis right now, but I wanted to say now that I think this song may be about euthanasia, and the sufferer trying to convince his loved ones to 'pull the plug'. Suicide seemed close, but I certainly do NOT think this song is about a breakup.

I might go a bit more in-depth tomorrow...

I think that this song is asking a loved one to set you free.

The person who the song is meant to be talking as obviously feels he is not good enough for his loved one and wants them to let him go but they won't.

At least, it's how I've interpreted it.

i read in a magazine or somewhere that this song was maybe about suicide and it kinda seems that way..at least thats what i think. like the person thinks they arent good enough for the one they love or that maybe the person they love has betrayed them and so they think theres nothing left and this is there goodbye. it makes sense with what i read in revolver lol.

This could also be a song that was written in Jesse's perspective of his feelings about leaving the band and quitting as lead singer. I could quote the song for my back up and info, but what I would quote is already at the top of the page. This whole song fits.

Last verse isn't correct. It should be

Those make a lot more sense with the whole message of the song.

i dont know why but i feel this song is just killswitch as a group saying goodbye... i was so freaked out the first time i heard it that i actually started to think that... it could be as well about suicide or relationships hopefully theyll keep on doing such amazingly good music for more years

so beautiful. its my favorite song off of the CD. but id say its about suicide.

clearly this song is about suicide... and IMO one of the more powerful suicide song second only to metallica's "fade to black"...but better than avenged sevenfold's "i wont see you tonight"

religion, war, politics, love, oppression, depression, and now suicide?....what cant these guys successfully write about...these dudes are the shit
