Hey there it's good to see you again,
It never felt right calling this "just friends".
I'm happy, if you're happy, with yourself.

Take off your shirt, your shoes,
those skinny jeans I bought for you.
We're diving in, there's nothing left to lose.

I'm gonna break down these walls, (down these walls) I built around myself.
I wanna fall so in love (so in love), with you, and no one else,
Could ever mean half as much, to me as you do now.
Together we'll move on, just don't turn around,
Let the walls break down.

I used to wear you like a ball and chain,
I'd run and hide at the call of my name.
It was obvious you were too much for me.
Oblivious, I was young and horny.

In retrospect, I wouldn't do it again.
Stop talking shit to every one of your friends
I'm not the same boy you knew back then...

'Cause I can break down these walls, I built around myself.
I wanna fall so in love, with you, and no one else,
Could ever mean half as much, to me as you do now.
Together we'll move on, just don't turn around,
Let the walls break

I can't breathe, my body's shaking.
You've got a way with the way you take me,
'Cause you break me down,
You know you break me down

I'm gonna break down these walls, (down these walls) I built around myself.
I wanna fall so in love, (so in love) with you, and no one else,
Could ever mean half as much, to me as you do now.
Together we'll move on, just don't turn around,
Let the walls break down.

Break down these walls, I built around myself.
Let the walls break down. (break down these walls)
'Cause you break me down, (cause you break me down, 'cause you break me down)
Let the walls break down.

Def does seem like it's about Lisa.

I'm happy if he's happy. Though I lust him.

    ... haha.

this song is so cute! i think it is about lisa. @xxmodernlove i think we all kinda lust alex a bit!

the lyrics make a lot of sense of what we know about their relationship.

    Song Meaning

Well, when I first heard this song, I thought it was solely about sex. But I listened to it a little bit with earbleed until 0:19.

I realized it was keeping a up close, personal relationship with somebody. More intimate, more emotional. I was scared this would be pop crap.

it sounds like it's about a past relationship where he broke the girls heart and just got into the whole relationship for sex because he wasn't mature enough to handle something more and now he wants something more and he realizes this one girl was the only one who he ever truly love.

reminds me of ghosts of girlfriends past. xD haha.

    woo all time low <3

quite obviously about alex's girlfriend, lisa

Hey there, it's good to see you again It never felt right, calling this just friends I'm happy if you're happy with yourself

earlier on, they were on again/off again and it was an open relationship

Take off your shirt, your shoes Those skinny jeans I bought for you We're diving in There's nothing left to lose

this part seems like he's talking about when they decided to be together for real instead of open and they're diving into a relationship the taking off clothes part seems to add to the "diving" metaphor, like they're representing her inhibitions

I'm gonna break down these walls (Down these walls) I built around myself I wanna fall so in love (So in love) With you and no one else Could ever mean half as much To me as you do now

he wants to break down the walls he'd built up around his heart and finally let her in, so she's the only one, instead of the girls he'd been with before

Together we'll move on Just don't turn around Let the walls break down

he wants to move on from the open relationship, and he doesn't want to go back to what it was like before

I used to wear you like a ball and chain I'd run and hide at the call of my name It was obvious You were too much for me Oblivious I was young and horny

before, he felt like he was weighted down by her. he was "young and horny" and just wanted sex and not love

In retrospect, I wouldn't do it again Stop talking shit to every one of your friends I'm not the same boy you knew back then

looking back, he wouldn't have been in the open relationship or been a manwhore. she would tell all of her friends about that, but he's assuring her he's changed

I can't breathe My body's shaking You got a way With the way you take me 'Cause you break me down You know you break me down

this is the only part that i think is about sex (other than the young and horny bit), but it can also be taken as the way she makes him feel and how much he loves her; she breaks down his walls

    -tear it up

    I think that this part

I can't breathe My body's shaking You got a way With the way you take me 'Cause you break me down You know you break me down

Is not about sex. I think it is about the way that the person might make him feel, not even in a sexual way. I think that Alex is trying to say that the person can control him or "Break him down". Thats just my opinion though because thats the way I look at it

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
