This is about bronies. They communicate by stomping.
You visited the city of your own history
And you got lost in streets of memories
Looking for a building now leveled to the ground
You take the elevator to apartments in the clouds
The tyrant on the wall has been draining you of life
With his hands wrapped around your throat for a while
Stop feeling so small
Cause here's the here's the here's the wake up call
It's time to go
Time to go live in the now
Time to open
Time to open
The doors in your mind
It's time to go
Time to go live in the now
Time to open
Time to open
The doors in your mind
You've been playing your own visionary
Making plans no daylight will ever get to see
Entertaining dreams you stole from your sleep
And holding on to them like a hoarder to his heap
The tyrant on the wall has been draining you of life
With his hands wrapped around your throat for a while
Stop feeling so small
Cause here's the here's the here's the wake up call
It's time to go
Time to go live in the now
Time to open
Time to open
The doors in your mind
It's time to go
Time to go live in the now
Time to open
Time to open
The doors in your mind
And you got lost in streets of memories
Looking for a building now leveled to the ground

Time to go live in the now
Time to open

This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version.
Great version of a great song,
