Wake up, I wipe the sleepers from my eye
Looked up / I see / it's two thirty-five
Get up, I thought I'd sleep from ten 'till two
Out in the cold, I start my day with you

They call themselves the purple kool-aid cult
They lost their head, and claim it's all my fault
I'm fed for kool-aid intravenously
I must regain my own autonomy

The purple kool-aid cult's back, I'm paranoid again
Would someone please appease all the stress of mind?

Sorry friend there's no way I could stay
Wish I could explain the reason why
I'm being chased so please pardon my haste
Please appease the stress of my brown head

They turned their backs and I began to run
Looked back a flash and I began to shout
I've got to find a passage out of here
I'm not too certain that the futures clear

And now I'm alone too / but I'm aware
?????? and sits upon a skinny chair
They're gathering now around a sugar throne
It's red and round and speaks of miracles

The purple kool-aid cult's back, I'm paranoid again
Would someone please appease all the stress of mind?

He said he's going to be up in your mouth
Weird ritual for you and I to mate
I see a glow but I now see astray
I pick up a furious pace so I can get away

Big ol' smile, a purple pleasure hangs the cape
Oh me, oh my it was the great escape
The situation is still to me a bit of a scandal
Everytime I see a purple smile within my underwear

The purple kool-aid cult's back, I'm paranoid again
Would someone please appease all the stress of mind?

Sorry friend there's no way I could stay
Wish I could explain the reason why
I'm being chased so please pardon my haste
Please appease the stress of my brown head

Four years and twenty days float on by
Carried out that silicone and taste is left behind
I'm going next door to celebrate I say
And I think that this kool aid
Is the punch that got me drunk today

Next thing I know I'm standing on a chair
Whipping my arms around the friendly air
I preached the words a thousand years ago
I now surrender to the certain glow

The purple kool-aid cult's back, I'm paranoid again
Would someone please appease all the stress of mind?

Sorry friend there's no way I could stay
Wish I could explain the reason why
I'm being chased so please pardon my haste
Please appease the stress of my brown head

I'm being chased by seven kids high on Kool-Aid
But then they're not crazy cause they're high on Kool-Aid
But then they're not crazy they're still high on Kool-Aid

    Lyric Correction

Since nobody actually knows the full lyrics I decided to make an interpretation of what I think the missing lyrics are, but unfortunately I don't know what the song means even though it's probably really obvious and I'm just stupid.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Blink-182
This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Head > Heels
Ed Sheeran
“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.
