Drain the Blood Lyrics

Well I felt you drain the blood
from my left ventricle
anytime you said you would
change my heart into petrified wood

oh oh oh I'm really trying
to save you tonight
to save you tonight

oh oh oh I'm really trying
to make it through the night
to make it through the night

open your heart
open your hands
I love the moment that you command
it's true
loving you

open your heart
open your hands
I love the moment that you command
it's true
loving you

oh oh oh I'm really trying
to save you tonight
to save you tonight

oh oh oh I'm really trying
to make it through the night
to make it through the night

I felt you drain the blood
from my left ventricle
anytime you said you would
change my heart into petrified wood

oh oh oh I'm really trying
to make it through the night
to make it through the night

oh oh oh I'm really trying
to save you tonight
to save you tonight

Cover art for Drain the Blood lyrics by Rural Alberta Advantage, The

Unless they meant for this to be some sci-fi song about vampires or murder... I'm guessing the "left ventricle..." part(s) are meant to say that his body has gone numb (the left ventricle carries blood to the body); I also think the "...petrified wood" parts that follow are meant to say that his heart would figuratively turn old and stone-like.

But, overall, I think this is a song is about a person that's fallen for and who wants to save a troubled person. The person in the song yearns to be let into their love interest's heart, despite their love interest's warning that they'd just end up cause the person hurt. The person in the song wants to help them, but, at the same time, they also want to make it through the dark time in their relationship.

I also think there are other possible interpretations, of course and it'd be interesting to hear other theories! This is a great song--the best on Hometowns, if not for "Frank, AB"!

Strong and steady beat

both of them want to FEEL something both are attracted to each other but they both have different views on life and love and they are both trying to win each other for their own reason

great song dont know if anything, said made sense so, i apologize if i wasted your time
