Starting Over Lyrics
Come on
Do you remember what we use to have
As if all our dreams were possible
All that existed was you and I
But distance has torn us apart
Forgive me, for all that I've done wrong
Lead me back to where my heart belongs
Can we start again?
Go back in time to where we started
Can we start again?
What we have can't be discarded
Do you remember the promises we made
But somehow we have lost our way
Take me back to where my heart belongs
Forever made for every day
I know that you doubt my words
I swear there will never be regret
Can we start again?
We thought love was everlasting
Can we start again?
What we had just can't be wasted
Silent thoughts were broken
And words that can't be taken back
But you mean so much more to me
Than anything, anything I've ever known
And this is the hope for tomorrow
That today you will return
Can we start again?
Go back in time to where we started
Can we start again?
What we have can't be discarded
Can we start again? Do you remember?
Can we start again?
Can we start again?
Go back in time to where we started
As if all our dreams were possible
All that existed was you and I
But distance has torn us apart
Lead me back to where my heart belongs
Go back in time to where we started
Can we start again?
What we have can't be discarded
But somehow we have lost our way
Take me back to where my heart belongs
Forever made for every day
I swear there will never be regret
We thought love was everlasting
Can we start again?
What we had just can't be wasted
And words that can't be taken back
But you mean so much more to me
Than anything, anything I've ever known
That today you will return
Go back in time to where we started
Can we start again?
What we have can't be discarded
Can we start again?
Can we start again?

Awesome song!!! It talks about two separeted persons, and un of the two person is asking if they can come back together
Tried my best on the lyrics, please correct me if they're wrong.
This song is pretty good, but a little disappointing for a first single, its not very rememberable, I forget how the song goes after I haven't listened to it for an hour. Reckoning was a lot more memorable in my opinion.
As for the meaning, its obviously about a breakup, where the spark in the relationship had gone out, and the person wishes it could be more like how it was in the beginning, but knows it'll never be the same.
I don't think it's just that the spark has gone out. I think that they have split up and the speaker realized that they messed up and wants a chance to fix it.

I thought this song was about a computer with a virus and Howard just wants to restart it and return to what it used to be like when he first bought it. He can't stand to depart with it, though, because it has so many things stored in memory. He'd rather stick it out with this than buying a new one.
was that a serious comment?

Awesome song, awesome video, and the lyrics are correct. the meaning is obvious and already explained.
best part:
Forgive me, for all that I've done wrong Lead me back to where my heart belongs
Awesome song. Love it. Really looking forward to their new album. The meaning is rather obvious: A relationship which was once strong that fell apart, and a wish to repair it back to the way it was.
This song is really helping me. I feel like thats what my relationship is turning into. I wish my relationship was the way it used to be. That spark. Its something you can only understand if you've been through it.
fusion101 said it best. This song is wanting to go back in the relationship where the 'spark' was there. Awesome lyrics that a lot of people can relate to.
So much emotion expressed in this song, truly the first song we've heard Howard broaden his horizons on his vocal abilities and it is amazing. This song speaks for itself obviously; a relationship between two people who have grown distant to each other due to mistakes or just drifting. If you have watched the music video, both of the people want things to go back to how they used to be and be happy again. However, the end of the video shows both standing where they were in the beginning of the video. I see this as make an impact to change how you want things in your life, even if it's something you once had that has been lost.
All around, this is absolutely the #1 song on the new album and the new single that metal/rock fans will be talking about for awhile. Killswitch Engage is hands down my favorite band, they kick ass
I love the song. It sounds alot like something that happened to me with an ex. I really like the new album.
it sounds kinda connected to the 1st song "never again". like he's going back on what he said. or even like theres a 2 way conversation here, the 1st in the 1st song saying they'll never forgive the partner for what they've done and this one where that person is asking for a fresh start....anyone else think the same?
