Sapphire Lyrics
between the black and the gray there is only the rage
of the waterfall dream
and the shadows that play in the roaring cascade
will not stay in the stream
though a feather or two has been plucked from your wings
flying is always the same
we'll fly off together, I'll love you forever for now
forever's to blame
in the cavern of night where the river of thirst
runs its terrible course
burns a crystal black flame in the cold silver eyes
of a sapphire blue horse
though a feather or two has been plucked from your wings
flying is always the same
we'll fly off together, I'll love you forever for now
forever's to blame
of the waterfall dream
and the shadows that play in the roaring cascade
will not stay in the stream
flying is always the same
we'll fly off together, I'll love you forever for now
forever's to blame
runs its terrible course
burns a crystal black flame in the cold silver eyes
of a sapphire blue horse
flying is always the same
we'll fly off together, I'll love you forever for now
forever's to blame

Gorgeous.
I agree. I really love this song.
Side note: I got to meet Curt Kirkwood at Summerfest!
This is a beautiful love song. It speaks about those secrets or weaknesses that we hold within ourselves. He (the singer) has learned of some of these secrets of hers(his love), which he belies with the line about the shadows in the roaring cascade; they will not stay in the stream. In the chorus he is making a promise that no matter what weaknesses--feathers plucked from her wings-- she may have, he will stay with her.
I'm still not sure about the horse in the cavern. I assume this describes one of the secrets within the cavern of her mind or something. Thoughts?
