He (the singer) has learned of some of these secrets of hers(his love), which he belies with the line about the shadows in the roaring cascade; they will not stay in the stream. In the chorus he is making a promise that no matter what weaknesses--feathers plucked from her wings-- she may have, he will stay with her.
