Heard you're new in town, want someone to show you 'round
Well, no one knows this place just quite like me
Well, I don't hang with the crowd where I go we're dressing down
I'll take you where the music plays for free

So don't rely on people you meet
'Cause no one is safe in these streets

I'm gonna take you out tonight
I'm gonna make you feel alright
I don't have a lot of money but we'll be fine
No I don't have a penny but I'll show you a good time

I'm gonna take you out tonight
I'm gonna make you feel alright
I don't have a lot of money but we'll be fine
No I don't have a penny but I'll show you a real good time

So what do you think so far? Is it all you're hoping for?
Does it live up to your every dream?
Or do we disappoint? Well you made the choice
When you wake up can you hear the scream?

So don't rely on people you meet
'Cause no one is safe in these streets

I'm gonna take you out tonight
I'm gonna make you feel alright
I don't have a lot of money but we'll be fine
No I don't have a penny but I'll show you a good time

I'm gonna take you out tonight
I'm gonna make you feel alright
I don't have a lot of money but we'll be fine
No I don't have a penny but I'll show you a real good time

'Cause I know how it feels to be alone
When strangers only make you feel the cold
You never ever felt so far from home
You never felt so far from home

I'm gonna take you out tonight
I'm gonna make you feel alright
I don't have a lot of money but we'll be fine
No I don't have a penny but I'll show you a good time

I'm gonna take you out tonight
I'm gonna make you feel alright
I don't have a lot of money but we'll be fine
No I don't have a penny but I'll show you a real good time

I'm gonna take you out tonight
I'm gonna make you feel alright
I don't have a lot of money but we'll be fine
No I don't have a penny but I'll show you a good time

I'm gonna take you out tonight
I'm gonna make you feel alright
I don't have a lot of money but we'll be fine
No I don't have a penny but I'll show you a real good time

According to good ol' Wikipedia, this song was 'inspired by the "seedy side of life" in Los Angeles and the strange individuals Little Boots met while recording Hands.'

    Song Meaning

First off, I just love this song!

Anyway, to me there are a couple of meanings to this song:

First meaning - that the main person is a drug pusher and is trying to get new people into drugs. The "So don't rely on people you meet, 'Cause no-one is safe in these streets" can mean that you shouldn't trust anyone 'cause they can rob you and what-not.

Second meaning - that you don't have to be rich to have fun, but if you do go the "free" route that you can head into some trouble.

So that is what the song meaning(s) is to me.

This song is incredibly catchy. This song is probably showing someone who is new in town where all the hip but free places are. I imagine the person to be someone young like in early 20s who is broke and trying to have a good time. Some people might think the song is about sex because people like to think that having a good time has to do with that. I really like the remix as well by Fred Falke.

It's about a guy who's found yet another gullible girl ("new in town"...doesn't know the ropes) who he plans to show around and have sex with. A simple melody. Played over and over again it's rather quite catchy, kind of like the clap. He's a broke son of a bitch but he knows how to show the ladies (girls) a good time. Ahhh....that will last long :)

Holiday

@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
