Open the gate to your apartment complex,
Your not getting off that easily.
I climb the fence,
The one that you've been sitting on.
(How long)
Before I'm just a memory,
(How long)
Before you can't remember me,
(How long?)Remember me.

I never had a choice
I never had a choice
To lead the choke homodyne
Round that to his doorway
I couldn't find the box to fix
The restless nagging in my brain
(How long?)
Before I'm just a memory,
(How long?)
Before you can't remember me,
(How long?)Remember me.

Lover, lover, on the fence
Bat your eyes, ball a fist
And swing (swing) swing (swing)
Before you leave
Lover, lover, tell me this
Passion over consequence,
When did the latter take the lead?
Just swing
Just swing, (swing), swing, (swing), swing

I never had a choice,
I never had a choice,
The evening lit itself
And watched my reservations fall to the floor
Fall to the floor
Now sing with me
(How long?)
Before I'm just a memory
(How long?)
Before you can't remember me,
(How long?)Remember me.

Lover, lover, on the fence
Bat your eyes, ball a fist
And swing (swing) swing (swing)
Before you leave
Lover, lover, tell me this
Passion over consequence,
When did the latter take the lead?
Just swing

Open the gate to your apartment complex
Did you forget love, your who called for me?
(Did you forget, did you forget?)
How long did you expect to keep me waiting?
How long before I'm just a memory?

Lover, lover, on the fence
Bat your eyes, ball a fist
And swing (swing) swing (swing)
Before you leave
Lover, lover, tell me this
Put passion over consequence,
Since when did the latter take the lead?
Just swing
Swing, (swing), swing, (swing), swing, (swing)
Just swing, swing, swing
Just swing

Okay First. I have a HUGE issue with people with bad spelling. It's "YOU'RE not getting off that easily" not "your". -The song goes "I never had a choice to leave the choke-hold mold and romance through this doorway". -Every other "swing" should be in brackets, like this "swing, (swing), swing, (swing). -It's "ball A fist" not "ball your fist" -You missed out "before you leave" it goes "bat your eyes, ball a fist and swing, (swing), swing, (swing), swing before you leave. -Adam says "lover, lover, tell me this" there's no "now" before "tell me this" -After "when did the latter take the lead" he says "Just swing....just swing" and the other 5 "swing"s should be in brackets. -Adam says "now SING with me" not "now sit with me" -After the second verse, in the second part of the chorus, he doesn't keep saying sing. he just says "Just swing...just swing" ...then he goes on to saying "open the gate to your appartment complex..." -You forgot the "r" on "lover" when you wrote the last stanza.

    • Adam says "WELL, passion over consequence"
    • And for the last bit. To be specific, Adam says "Just swing (swing) swing (swing) swing (swing. swing)...Just swing. swing. swing. Just swing...

Yeah. I get really specific on lyrics. :P and how do I know all this stuff

    1. I'm really good at listening to Adam. That's my thing when I listen to music. I pick apart the lyrics and find their meaning. So I listen to the songs many many times.
    2. I have the Special Edition, and that one includes the lyric booklet. lol. xD

I love this song. It's my second favourite, after "Sink Into Me"

    Cheers!

This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
