Sitting down in the gutter, I hate myself
Feeling small, trying to seem even smaller
The world is enormous so why should this matter
Just one shadow and still it's the biggest shame

On the edge of a breakdown
I reached my hand to my shadow
Got something to hold on to
And I opened my knots...

But there's no thrill in this struggle, it's useless
I lost a long time ago right when I started
But I'm invisible, I'm invincible
Just as long as the shadow is around me

I'm the ruler of myself...
In the shadows, in the shadows
In the shadows I'm ruling myself

[I kiss your arm, I can see your delight]
You're just a flattering snake
[Obey me or I'll have to shatter your wires]
I know I can be on my own
[I'll tell everyone how rotten you're inside]
There's still a reason to go on
[You can not leave me, I'll be part of your soul]
[Till the end of your time]

Is there someone to trust
For whom could I open my crust
Is there a place for me
Where I don't have to hide my needs

Shadows can't be seen in the dark
The dawn reveals my every inferiority

Turning, turning, turning around
I'm turning, turning, turning around again
I'm turning, turning around again
I'm turning, turning around...

Can you pull me under?
Can you hide my blunders?

There's no mercy on your face
When you challenge me to race
I need to learn not to cry

You think the only way to gain
Is to bravely face the pain
Cause the needles never lie

Turning, turning, turning around
I'm turning, turning, turning around again

I know the fight has just begun
All there's left's an endless run
But I'll go on towards the sun

And if I never leave the light
Maybe there's a chance to find
All that sacred and divine

Stop the childish hide and seek
Real perfection does not exist, no

Looking down I see my faithful follower
Others can leave me, but not my sister

Shadow behind me
Who knows me like she does
My guardian, only stability

Shadow appears if light meets life
It's a part of you from the beginning
It can be your power but keep it beneath
Cause the freedom can't see in the dark

Balance is the only true guide
You should never try to divide
There's no pure black and white
Honest innocence nor spite
Everything has the counter side

Shadow, shadow - You're watching me down in the
Shadow, shadow - You're watching me down in the
Shadow, shadow - You're watching me, I see you smile

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
