Police Me Lyrics

Police yourself
Police yourself
Police me
Police yourself
Police yourself
Police me

We've got your own remote viewing
Every cell has been taught to think
Perhaps the answer to the question
Lies in the question
Perhaps you should read my thoughts
Line them up like soldiers

Police yourself
Police youself
Police me

Loaded, full of winter you are
Storming Blackberry girl
Will you strike before he's
Loaded, full of winter you are storming
Blackberry girl will you strike
Before he's loaded
Full of winter you are

Police yourself
Police yourself
Police me

Can they monitor how you think?
They've got their own remote viewing
To get off he cries "slutty goth"
But I'm a brightly colored person

Loaded, full of winter you are
Storming Blackberry girl
Will you strike before he's
Loaded, full of winter you are storming
Blackberry girl will you strike
Before he's loaded
Full of winter you are
Perhaps the answer to the question
Lies in the question
Perhaps you should read my thoughts
Line them up like soldiers

Police yourself
Police yourself
Police me

Perhaps the answer to the question Lies in the question.

Buzz killers. Philosophical tricks that seem like mind control.

From the song, and judging from the visualette, it's about technology. Remote viewing = security. Privacy invasion (can they monitor how you think?; police yourself, police me). Voyeurism, perhaps internet sexual gratification killing human intimacy (to get off he cries "slutty goth"; full of winter you are). How people communicate without looking at one another (blackberry girl; perhaps you should read my thoughts).

Information storage/artificial intelligence = "every cell (microchips?) have been taught to think"

(Also liking the song has very separate stanza 'moods' (3 'voices...' [or v2.5?]) - but each could be looped infinitely (like police sirens... flashing lights... authoritative and intentionally annoying.)

My Opinion

"Police yourself" sounds a lot like "Please yourself" ... people are doing just what they want.

"Will you strike before he's loaded? Full of winter you are" reminds me of the cold war where talk was of the tactical advantage in a "missile first strike" and the risk of "nuclear winter".

The overall feel of the song is of an increasingly isolated and grey existence where Tori feels herself to be a brightly coloured person trying to break through and communicate with other people in a world that doesn't want to listen, instead just wants to watch in an impersonal way.

sometimes artists will say things and not realize what the meaning was until years later. (especially when writing passionately) Maybe it's just me, but these lyrics oddly represent the relationship between Neil Gaiman and Amanda Palmer.

Talk/disjointed.

Probably the best line for me in this song

To get off he cries "slutty goth" But I'm a brightly colored person <

Not sure what this song means. But I'm seeing a lot of security cameras, things in black and white, and people sneaking around corners...
