"Police Me" as written by and Tori Ellen Amos....
9 1 1
What is the nature of your emergency?
They say I'm trying to reach nine eleven
But my phone doesn't have eleven on it.
Someone broke into my house
And took a bite out of my
Ham and cheese sandwich.
Yes, I bring home the bacon
Police is a friend of mine on facebook
And please police me
Carabinierize me
And vigilize me
Please urbanize me
9 1 1

What is the nature of your emergency they say
I've some articulation problem as you can see
Yes you can. Sounds good. Sounds Heineken.
I always say I said
I have got a goat and I'd like a dog
Call the police cause I've just killed the music
And please police me
Carabinierize me and vigilize me
Please urbanize me
9 1 1 so
Mary Magdalene called the 9 1 1 so many times
She denounced some bad boy who was launching stones against her

And I sing the law
And the police love
I sing the love
I sing the law

General CommentPerhaps the answer to the question
    Lies in the question.

Buzz killers. Philosophical tricks that seem like mind control.

General CommentFrom the song, and judging from the visualette, it's about technology.
    Remote viewing = security.
Privacy invasion (can they monitor how you think?; police yourself, police me).
Voyeurism, perhaps internet sexual gratification killing human intimacy (to get off he cries "slutty goth"; full of winter you are).
How people communicate without looking at one another (blackberry girl; perhaps you should read my thoughts).

My Opinion(Also liking the song has very separate stanza 'moods' (3 'voices...' [or v2.5?]) - but each could be looped infinitely (like police sirens... flashing lights... authoritative and intentionally annoying.)

General Comment"Police yourself" sounds a lot like "Please yourself" ... people are doing just what they want.

"Will you strike before he's loaded? Full of winter you are" reminds me of the cold war where talk was of the tactical advantage in a "missile first strike" and the risk of "nuclear winter".

The overall feel of the song is of an increasingly isolated and grey existence where Tori feels herself to be a brightly coloured person trying to break through and communicate with other people in a world that doesn't want to listen, instead just wants to watch in an impersonal way.

General Commentsometimes artists will say things and not realize what the meaning was until years later. (especially when writing passionately) Maybe it's just me, but these lyrics oddly represent the relationship between Neil Gaiman and Amanda Palmer.

General CommentProbably the best line *for me* in this song

    >To get off he cries "slutty goth"
But I'm a brightly colored person

Not sure what this song means. But I'm seeing a lot of security cameras, things in black and white, and people sneaking around corners...
