Kingdom Of Welcome Addiction Lyrics
Do you remember your coming down,
forced to take sides?
Your taunted charm and your broken smile,
touched me unexpectedly.
So long,
So long you've waited in line.
Desire is a gift in life.
So long,
So long you've left and arrived,
It's time for you to stay a while.
If you chose life,
You know what the fear is like.
You welcome addiction,
This is your kingdom.
Your fight for power,
For memories, answers and signs,
Will bring you through the dark to light,
Clear and redefined.
Too long,
Too long I waste for these,
Emotionally sucking life,
Too long,
Too long, you waste, and right,
It's time for you recognize.
If you chose life,
You know what the fear is like.
You welcome addiction,
This is your kingdom.
If you chose life,
You know what the fear is like.
You welcome addiction,
This is your kingdom.

this interpretation is for "Kingdom Of Welcome Addiction" only. not really sure why "Tear Garden" is lumped in here. what i get from KOWA is empowerment through the sacrifice of long standing friendships. The recognition of the harsh realities in life. & letting go of "story book" ideals in order to live for yourself. xo, SJ

When first hearing the song I thought that "addiction"-stuff could be taken literally, as if the song is about someone who was addicted to something for a long time and somehow fought his way out, or is still fighting. It could be an actual addiction to drugs, or perhaps to a certain person or whatever. The "if you chose life"-lines sound to me as if someone experienced a life-or-death-situation, perhaps has been suicidal, and now has to live with some kind of fear (caused by the addiction?) and has to deal with it.
My interpretation is that this is about depression and suicide.
"If you chose life, You know what the fear is like.". Choosing life is no easy task for a person with depression, fearing they may lose the will to go on.
"If you welcome addiction, This is your kingdom." Depression can feel like an addiction to feeling sad. But, so many people are touched by it, that it's not like you don't belong. It's your kingdom to share with others like you.
"Your fight for power, For memories, answers and signs, Will bring you through the dark to light, Clear and redefined." The constant fight for the will to go on, for memories of reasons to live, or for something to come and give a good reason to go on in signs. All a person needs to 'choose life' is simply something to live for.
That being said. I really love this song.
