And if you're hurting
I will replace the noise
With silence instead
Flushing out your head

If you like it violent
We can play rough and tumble
Fall into bed
And I won't breathe so you can recover

When you're in pieces
Just follow the echo of my voice
It's okay
Tune into that frequency

Don't fight your reflex
Embrace the instinct
You can feel your way
Through the bed and weak face in the end

'Cause it breaks my heart
That we live this way
I know people need love
'Cause them people never play the game

And we talk the talk
We communicate
And them people need love
Those people never play the game

Pleasure for pleasure
The tease is consequence
Enough for a fall
But I know you love to take a risk

The past is weakness
Don't beg the question
When the answer is war
There are moments when I'm overcome

'Cause it breaks my heart
That we live this way
I know people need love
'Cause them people never play the game

And we talk the talk
We communicate
Them people need love
Those people never play the game

And it breaks my heart
And it breaks my heart
People need love

I think that the line "Don't beg the question when the answer is war" means, that most people are afraid of rejection. When they are in love with somebody, they are afraid of telling him/her because there is the possibilty that they don't return their love. Sorry for the bad english btw. I'm swiss

to me the beginnin of this song is telling of how people come to another when they're upset, "I will replace the noise with silence instead" - that person will take their minds off all the thoughts buzzin around their head. to do this they have sex, however they want it, anything to take their mind off it - "If you like it violent We can play rough and tumble".

"When you're in pieces Just follow the echo of my voice It's okay Tune into that frequency Don't fight your reflex Embrace the instinct You can feel your way To the burden we face in the end??"

    • here i think someone is convincing the upset person follow their sexual instincts. to the consequence that will come from it , a reality the writer puts at the end of this verse to point out the consequences of action which is usually ignored wen people get into this situation.

the chorus makes me think that the writer is against this tendency to casual sex when feeling low. it breaks his heart how people need "love" (sex), and dont go through the usual processes of real love.

"pleasure for pleasure..."- this verse talks of how this sex is pureley physical to get kicks, its a temptation people are weak to. "the past is weakness" talks of the persons sexual histories, he asks them not to "beg the question" (perhaps a new partner) cos they wont like wot they hear- this persons vast history overwhelms him.

just what i think, great song!

    Song Meaning

If you interested in my text , what i think 'bout this... feel free to translate it .. My write-skills are not really good in this lang. So i use German.

>>cause it breaks my heart<<

Don't fight your reflex Embrace the instinct You can feel your way Through the bed and weak face in the end<<

    Song Meaning

For me this song is about the emotions involving sex. When you have sex with someone for pleasure, it is easy to fall into the trap of attachment (because that is human nature) - It is about those who deal with this by cutting themselves off from the feelings of love, removing themselves (spitting it out after sex like semen or even blood). "Playing the game" is referring to the game of love, emotion, attachment. "Don't beg the question when the answer is war" is the idea of playing with fire, the idea of saying I love you and then entering the game (the war) and putting it all on the line. The song is about every aspect of this situation - from the sadness about people who cut themselves off (I've been one of those people, it breaks you apart), and the emotion involved with falling for one of those people.

    A truly beautiful song.

I would recommend you all go and look for the Designer Drugs remix of this song, as it adds quite a lot, especially if you love electro ;]

    My Interpretation

This song is so very powerful. Taken literally it talks about the entanglement of lovers, of becoming absorbed in someone to the point that you cannot separate yourself from them.

It's a dark song, too, he becomes a drug "When you're in pieces / Just follow the echo of my voice / It's okay / Tune into that frequency / Don't fight your reflex" - it's a hypnotic song which calls to that person and begs them to follow and trust.

It also paints a bleak picture of love, perhaps a love that has gone sour. Talking the talk and communicating sounds cynical, as does the "pleasure for pleasure" bit. Someone uses the other for pleasure because it "eases the consequences". An absolutely amazing song.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
