Marilyn Manson commented about this song -> "I think a lot of people will hear the track and initially think it's just political, but it's not just that, it's also me describing a lot of fucked-up scenarios that I'm going through in my personal life. Someone asked me, 'Why are you so fucked up?', 'Well, I am from America.' I hate the fact that so many people have fucked the country up, and so many people fucked up my personal life and I allowed it to happen. So in a way, I feel like America as a whole feels, but in no way does that make me a tree-hugging patriotic freedom rocker."
im from america, and i completely agree. Cretin people fuck up america in general, and cretin people fuck up marilyn manson's life in general. No one HATES america more then the people who originate from there and know how fucked up it is on the inside... lol u guys have no idea...
This song was ALLOT better then i expected, and it has that 'fuck you god-loving retards' feel to it which we all love. So far so good, this album mite even be better then antichrist superstar!
"where they let you carve on faces" Not sure that's the right lyrics there... I think it's a little worse than that. Take another listen.
I was hoping this would be the lightest song I would hear on the album, especially after all of the super-heavy hype. But this song kicks a ton of ass, to say the least.
haha i got it now. thanks.

Well I think the lyrics are actually "where they let you cum on their faces" even if its not correct, I think its more funny :)

As harsh as he's being, it's honestly true. Come to America and read a few newspapers. The lyrics are powerfully blunt, I'd say.
I think, if you interpret it in a way, the "where we eat our young" part could be referring to pop culture here in America. Youth generations in America are considered like, the trendsetters. The media caters to them. And people eat it up. Miley Cyrus, Jonas Brothers, MTV...all of it. Even that lame suburban white kid look is now becoming prevalent.
"We believe in everything we say; we say it because we believe it" is a fallacy, begging the question to be exact.
Though I don't think he says, "I'm so sick of it now." Listen to it again.
First off. If you're from another country, you probably don't know America as well as we do. So you would have no idea how to hate it as badly as we do. (p.s., australia is slowly becoming another america. the two are almost identical when it comes to igrance and fat people.) ANYWAY. here's what i think the means. (even though it's kinda repetitive)
we're from america where we eat our young (stem cell research, abortions, or just the simple fact that we corrupt our residents from a VERY young age.) we're from america it's where jesus was born. (we've come to think that. "we're the shit") we're from america where they let you come on our faces (celebraties, god, the news. we gladly open our mouths and legs to anything something "higher" than us in the social status ladder) we're from america we speak american (hah this ones funny. if ask any typical american what language they speak, they'll tell you they speak american. .... there's no such language as "american" ha it's ENGLISH. (or mexican depending on who you ask ha)
we don't believe in credibility cuz we know that we're fuckin incredible (can't be stated any clearer.)
i wanna be a martyr don't wanna be victim (Martyr: a person who seeks sympathy or attention by feigning or exaggerating pain, deprivation, etc.. ha I didn't know this deffinition of martyr before i just looked it up. but this makes complete sense now. ha we just want to get whine and get attetion for the bad stuff that happens to us, but we don't want it to actually happen. we don't want to endure suffering but we want people have sympathy for us.)
be a killer with a god, so they call me a hero (using god as an excuse to "kill" example; OJ simpson, christian crusades, ect
god is an excuse. (holy shit people, you need to see this already!)
so sing it with me
we're from america we're from america we're from america you can sing it with me. we're from america we're from america we're from america (like siam06 said. this part he's just making the song super dumb and generic to make fun of other boring bands that just repeat the same lyric over and over again. ha )
don't like to kill our unborn, we need them to grow up and fight our wars (self explanitory.)
we believe in everything we say we say it because we believe it. (we have no background knowledge of what we're saying. we just act convinced of what we're talking about. and then make other people believe it, just because we do. ha we lie to ourselves, then make other people think the same way we do.)
we're from america we turn literature into litter. (perfect example, this website. more than half of the people, just on marilyn mansons page, can't spell right.) we're from america we believe in being a quitter (failing and quitting is okay, as long as you tried in america. nobody strives to be better.)
i'm in recovery (probably saying.. he's recovering from the stupidity of americans. dissassociating himself from these monkeys, and trying to better himself. we're from america
This song is boring as hell to listen to, but i completely agree with the message. I don't know why any american mother or organization has gotten mad and protested this song yet? i would've expected they would have by now.. ha maybe manson got away from scrutinization by conforming to their lame expectations of music, but then bitch slapped them once he got inside? ha and they didn't even realize it. maybe i'm just high
Pretty cool song. What a lot of you dipshits don't realize is that not everyone in America is a fucked up, pro-war, hillbilly, McDonalds eating retard. You can't just generalize that to everyone. Every country is fucked up. Our politicians need to be fucking castrated though, I'll tell you that. People have been pretty dissatisfied with the actions of the government and whenever people fuck up in our country, there's always someone there to check them and put them in place. Well, usually.
Like I said though, pretty cool Manson song. I think everyone can relate to this.
Wow I really liked eat me drink me for the dark side it had some very good songs on that cd but this new song really rocked me back to anti-christ superstar. i hope the rest of the cd is just as good
really? i found the album nothing like anti-christ superstar. but maybe your hearing something i'm not.

I don't mind this song and I like the lyrics. I do however think that it is a little repetitive and the music a little basic. My opinion. Looking forward to seeing Manson when he comes down under in support of the new record.
it says where they let you cum on their faces..
This song doesn't just apply to America. More like most of the world. Everyone is effed up.
this song feels like a really bad remake of Posthuman....some of the most uninspired lyrics manson has written in a long time
Hmmm, it's almost like it's intentional...
