I think its about a relationship.

The house being their relationship which is fitting because a house is built up and worked on as is a relationship.

His heart is the frozen creek. The reason the house is on a frozen creek is because he still cares about her or the house/relationship and won't let go.

Its built on a burial ground implies either an ended relatonship or bad past.

He promised he would do anything to save the home. Their love or relationship.

He's closing his eyes to her treating him bad or to what she's done, hoping it'll get turned around for the better for them.

He'd love to take her there is where it gets ironic because she has already been a part of it just not as much so as he.

this is how I feel about this song.. It has some really strong ties to a previous relationship of mine that was built up over some issues that we each tried to bury.. we grew apart because of it and in the end I was in a place of despair to have her back when i was thinking "with my eyes closed", but when I was thinking with "both eyes open" I could clearly see that there was nothing left

Up on the pebble driveway - implying it's rural (not many people around, possibly a touchy issue) There sits a house - relationship It's the loneliest place - not much activity here, it's sad

I haven't spent much time there I wasn't allowed - I saw an issue but I couldn't go there It just didn't feel right - everytime I tried to go there it felt wrong or too afraid to try cause I didn't feel it was my place to go to

I open both of my eyes - thinking logically Still see an empty place, so empty - empty relationship with no hope

But if I keep them closed - thinking irrationally, thinking back Then there's still the chance That someone is out there - "someone" implying he doesn't know the person, maybe he once did or was just never able to make that connection

I would love to take you there - still wants to continue the relationship.. "love" implies it based on emotion, thus it's when he is "keeping his eyes closed"

anyways, this is just what this song means to me.. art is meant to be interpereted personally so this is my take.. hope everyone else feels as much a connnection to this art as I do. The song "I felt free" comes along a little while after this for me :)

its pretty obvious that on letting go is almost entirely about god and religion. i think at one point in his life anthony had a relationship with a god and that over the years... like many people... it fell apart when he began questioning things.

i think this song is about anthony moving back in the direction of having a relationship with 'god'

I'll be open on the internet. I definitely cried pretty hard when I saw this on youtube. The way it sounded and the way Anthony sung it I felt really sad after hearing it. It was so beautiful though. I like it so much. It's just having that lost hope and everything. It's so beautiful and natural sounding. I can't wait for the new album. I really can't.

I think these lyrics are right! I hope, I haven't listened to it enough to get a meaning yet. I cannot wait for the new album though, it's gonna be amazing!

And I think where he says he wasn't allowed is because he was afraid or to hurt to think about it.

Or his heart could be on the frozen creek while her heart is on the pebble driveway he isn't allowed there because she wouldn't let him in?

Thats a good interpretation. The best part about metaphoric lyrics is you can interpret them any way you want, as long as it makes sense to you. This song obviously could be interpreted in different ways.

Either way, its an incredible song.
