And A Song For Los Angeles Lyrics
Somber southern the streets are cold eyes, watching ahead of them. With no good reason and not break down she sighs, and stares at the overpass. Full of other reasons she's leaving town she swears, that it will be better then. If only she could see it'll follow her always, and then it's suddenly overpass.
Love your troubled ways, we can make them all mine! Santa Ana's blow our stories 'cross the sky line. Of a city that the angels found it fit to name. Against the black shine, a million little white lights! Afraid to merge, so we hide behind late night's. Still the voices cry, "Lover, it will be alright!"
Phil-lion city of privilege make believe until it becomes true. Following in traces of someone else's lies. But it doesn't become you. She said, it's nothing filming yet, and her body it seems to agree. As I vow to the stars on the sidewalk, though I don't know what you hope to see.
She misses the seasons, and stay at home nights. Now you should have seen her bathed in sunset red lights. Please tell her, I love her. But the city won't change. It's cold and unflinching. Ever loving & strange.

Here are the proper lyrics: (with no offense the original poster, the singer's delivery makes it a little hard to understand the words)
Ten-past seven The streets are cold eyes Watching ahead of them With no good reason to not break down she sighs And stares at the overpass Full of all the reasons she's leaving town she swears That it will be better then If only she could see it'll follow her always And then it's suddenly overcast.
Love your troubled ways We can make them all mine Santa Ana's blow our stories 'cross the skyline Of a city that the angels found it fit to name Against the black shine A million little white lights Afraid to merge so we hide behind late nights And the voices cry "Lover, it'll be alright... "
Feel-young city of privilege, make believe Until it becomes true Follow in the traces of someone elses lines But it doesn't become you She said, "it's not a full moon yet," and her body it seems to agree There's a map to the stars on the sidewalk Though I don't know what you hope to see
Love your troubled ways We can make them all mine Santa Ana's blow our stories 'cross the skyline Of a city that the angels found it fit to name Against the black shine A million little white lights Afraid to merge so we hide behind late nights Still the voices cry "Lover, it'll be alright... "
She misses the seasons And stay at home nights Man you should have seen her Bathed in sunset red lights Please tell her I love her But the city won't change It's cold and unflinching Ever lovely and strange

Fantastic song. Easily one of their best.
How it got shuffled to b-side/bonus track status is beyond me.
no comments!??!??!?! This song is amazing!!!! It just takes me over
When I hear this I see a girl leaving her home (in LA) that she shared with her boyfriend, husband. She is leaving him, for reasons of her own. The guy still loves her, and is left with his love for her.
The song speaks of the thousands of relationships in a big city like LA, and how they sometimes end, sometimes with, but sometimes without a reason at all.
One of SWR best songs, discovered it very late
This song pulls on my heartstrings.
