You have the power to heal yourself

All illness can be healed, the cell regenerates
Disambiguated situation
There is a secret code, the structure of the mind
You have the power to heal yourself

Flesh bodies mute and blinded roaming uncertain, lost
Infected misinformed
Releasing a black enormous insect out from the chest
Archaic from disease

Esoteric surgery, dissection of the soul
Unsuspected precise power
On the wounded astral body
Projected beam of light

All illness can be healed, the cell regenerates
Disambiguated situation
There is a secret code, the structure of the mind
You have the power to heal yourself

Suspended, floating in empty spaces
Descending swift like a fire running down
Obstruction, disintegration, life force
Overcoming all circumstances, release the pain

    My Interpretation

This is definitely one of my favorite songs. I will break it down line-by-line.

You have the power to heal yourself (the basic definition of "esoteric surgery")

All illness can be healed (pretty straight forward) The cell regenerates (cells can regenerate to heal tissues) Disambiguated situation (break down what he was saying) There is a secret code (he's talking about DNA) In the structure of the mind (your mind can give commands to each cell) You have the power to heal yourself (your body uses those things to heal itself)

Flesh bodies mute and blinded (people are unaware) Roaming uncertain, lost (they're walking aimlessly) Infected misinformed (they've been spreading incorrect information) Releasing a black enormous insect (by spreading the information, they're giving birth to a parasite) Out from the chest (I think they're saying that it's coming from the heart) Archaic from disease (it has become very old from the spreading disease)

Esoteric surgery a dissection of the soul (you can only heal yourself if you have the will power) Unsuspected precise power (people are often not expecting that some ailments can be healed so thoroughly) On the wounded astral body (an astral body is a medium between the physical body and the soul) (from those who are wounded in both their souls and bodies) Projected beam of light (hope is projected from those who have been wounded in their souls as well as their bodies)

All illness can be healed (pretty straight forward) The cell regenerates (cells can regenerate to heal tissues) Disambiguated situation (break down the what he was saying) There is a secret code (he's talking about DNA) In the structure of the mind (your mind can give commands to each cell) You have the power to heal yourself (your body uses those things to heal itself)

Suspended floating in empty spaces (purgatory) Descending swift like a fire running down (the thing blocking you from passing on) Obstruction disintegration life force (there are road blocks in your way of passing onto the next world) Overcoming all circumstances (overcome the road blocks) Release the pain (pass on to your next life)

This song is very difficult to interpret, but I think it's about how the body can heal itself when necessary. They go on to say that some people lose all hope for themselves and end up leading themselves to their own demise. At the end of the song, they talk about passing on to the next life.

    My Interpretation

Whenever i listen gojira i get yogic vibe. many of the songs talk about yogic and spiritual things or something about enlightenment. This song if seen in this way is talking about shambhavi mudra which is yogic way to cure from inside.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.
